Medford woman arrested in puppy-drowning case

Story here. Notice the woman smiling in the police photo. Excerpt:

'A Medford woman accused of drowning a friend's puppy earlier this month was arrested last week.

On Aug. 9 around 6 p.m., witnesses said Rachel Wilson-McCollough held a 6-month-old pitbull puppy under water in the Chetco River, according to Capt. Bob Rector of the Curry County sheriff's office. It appeared she was intentionally drowning the puppy, the witnesses said. By the time a deputy arrived at the remote spot, Wilson-McCollough was gone.

Bail was originally set at $25,000, but had been reduced to $7,500 by Monday morning. The district attorney's office filed charges of animal abuse -- not the aggravated animal abuse she was first booked for -- on Aug. 21. Rector said that the charges may have been reduced because the sheriff's office had not finished its investigation on Friday, and that the charges could be changed once the final report was in. As for bail being reduced so substantially, he had no explanation. "I cannot begin to tell you why that was lowered," he said.'

I'm a dog lover...so don't misunderstand. I'd take out a second mortgage to save my hound. However, I wouldn't pee on my ex if she was on fire.

But I'm curious. Was the dog that this crazy chick decided to drown...Was it a bitch or...not?

Purely a rhetorical question.
