UK: 'Domestic abuse tokens' given out

Article here. Another completely outrageous domestic violence picture included with the article. Excerpt:

'Coin tokens with the message "Don't live with domestic abuse" will be handed to Berkshire residents to raise awareness about the issue.

The tokens, which are the same size as a £1 coin, can be used for shopping trolleys and gym lockers, Slough Borough Council said.

The contact number for the charity Women's Aid is included on the coins.

Slough Domestic Abuse Forum members will hand the tokens out at Montem Leisure Centre on Wednesday.'

"Dommies". If pounds are called "quid" and dollars "bucks", then we need a nickname for any token that effectively can be used as money in some way. Yes, as the article points out, these tokens can be used on trolleys and other places in the council (that's a county, FYI, for you Yanks, et al.) as coin of trade to buy rides, rent lockers, etc.

I wonder what the exchange rate is going to be... GBP1.00 = what, hmm, 2 Dommies? Wait, that can't be right. The Dommies have to be worth more. After all, it's all about the cause. I say the government in the UK fixes the exchange rate for the Dommie at half a Dommie (here's a shorthand for it: ".5 Dom" for 1/2 a Dommie) to one GBP, regardless of the actual relative demand for it. That'd work.

Well, at least in the old USSR, anyway.

As an aside, that actually looks like a *woman* hitting the woman. If so, we need MANY more pictures like that to counter the traditional image of domestic violence (i.e. the misandric version).

The more insane feminist become probably the better. In the end I think these things will just make feminist look increasingly ludicrous. You know they live in this fantasy world where every woman comes home to bedroom turned into a torture chamber. All this is just an outpouring of female neurosis. It needs to be taken seriously if only because a lot of people believe it like they believe in fairies .
