'Men put aside their pride' - more men parading in high heels
Submitted by anthony on Tue, 2009-04-21 06:50
Story here. Excerpt:
'With their masculinity set aside and high heels strapped tightly, local men and boys strutted their stuff Saturday morning to promote sexual abuse awareness in Acadiana.
More than 100 men and boys of all different ages and from all walks of life participated in Stuller Place's third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
...
Families and groups of men from UL, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, University Medical Center and Best Buy showed up wearing boots, stilettos and even shoes with fur.
...
And participants Chad Grow and David Reese didn't stop short of showing how dedicated and "fantabulous" they were for the event.
Both men came dressed in dresses, pink boas and wigs.'

I am beginning to suspect...
... these events are largely an excuse, form the POV of the men, to get up in drag and parade around with the side-effect of gaining points with the women who run their lives.
From the POV view of the organizers, of course, the purpose is quite clear.
Pansies on Parade.
I feel sorry for these guys. They don't seem to know that they're being used.
How often does making yourself an honorary woman actually get you anything except humiliated?
Wearing high heels is orthopedically unwise for anyone
"More than 100 men and boys of all different ages and from all walks of life participated in Stuller Place's third annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes..."
Stupid is as stupid does. This is a great tribute to all the people who are foolish enough to harm themselves by choosing to wear high heels.
Masculinity? Where?
These "men" are deluding themselves by saying that they are setting aside their "masculinity" temporarily to bring attention and support, as if there wasn't a national obsession with it already, to the plight of women and sexual assault. These clowns don't have any "masculinity" to set aside! They are mangina fools and I hope each and every one gets financially raped in divorce court. They deserve it!
How about a walk to make false rape accusations a felony?
After all a false accusation of rape IS RAPE! So where are the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners to deal with that crisis?
Gives new meaning to the term "Mangina".
lol
saw a commercial the other day
had some old pro athletes collecting for breast cancer
with their wives
and offering how it was THE cancer that affected more people
than any other type cancer. no mention of prostrate cancer in men.
i thought prostrate and breast cancer were pretty much equal
in men and women, respectively. yet the u.s. gov spends 7X
more on breast cancer than prostrate cancer. that's fair.
maybe these "guys" should experience some prostrate cancer victims suffering,
up close and personal.
is this ignorance of facts or stupidity or maybe they need to break out the high heels??
imho - manginas will do and say anything women want, w/o regard for any truth.
we see it EVERY day, and it is pathetic.
it was a shameful demonstration to me, and i was ashamed of them. you NEVER
see anything like this for mens' diseases.
where are the wives standing up for their men?
as i am writing this 2 commercials came on
about giving $$ for breast cancer to some local cancer clinic.
don't get me wrong, i love womens' breastses, well, some of them. it almost killed
ME when Christina Applegate had her breast surgeries. but she deserves not one $$
of research $$ because of her gender. that is what this is all about. $$$
for women, again. to hell w/ men. let's take care of women. that is hateful.
and has mangina butt-kissing wrote all over it.
these guys in drag here are just plain pitiful, and i feel very sorry for them.
hey boys, straighten up. you don't have to bend over all the time.
Would love to crash one of these events...
...wearing a T-shirt or carrying a protest sign. Several ideas come to mind:
etc...
Yeah, I can't wait 'til one of these comes to town. Would be great to get it on video too. On a different topic, I remember my Grandmother had toes that were all twisted and gnarly because she wore high heels throughout most of her career = Really really bad idea, and even more stupid when guys do it.
the male sex role strikes again
This is simply males swimming with the current of the cultural flow of providing and protecting for women. Everyone nods and tells them they are doing a good job since they are enacting the unspoken but extraordinarily powerful role for men of taking care of women, especially women who are injured (ill) and in need. MRA's have to fight this meme since speaking up for ***men's*** needs goes against this same current and is seen as selfish and woman hating since men are not supposed to think of their own needs only women and children and any man who dares to put himself first must be a selfish a-hole.
Due to this, fighting for women's rights or funding is a downhill battle, the path is easy and the rails are greased, stuff for men is uphill and against the grain and anyone who dares trod this path is a woman hater.
If it weren't bad enough already add on to that the female sex role does not encourage women to support men's issues, the flow of resources is seen as being from male to female and the needs of men are not seen as a priority while the needs of women are seen as essential. So men are discouraged from supporting men's issues and women are discouraged from supporting men's issues. :>(
This helps us understand why our numbers are so small and will likely continue to be small.
