Article here. You won't see the author discussing the bat speed and hand eye coordination necessary to hit a 98 mph fastball. You also won't read anything about the difficulty of throwing a ball from the '408 foot sign at Yankee stadium to gun down a runner at home. Don't expect to read about the strength, balance, and stamina needed by a catcher during a three hour game. Excerpt:

'Girls face ostracism from boys who were their friends outside the game. “When they were young, if the girl was really good enough, sometimes she would be accepted by her teammates,” Cohen said. “The older she got, the more hostility she would face because the stakes are higher.” Scouts from professional teams and colleges are looking for prospects “and boys still feel that their masculinity is threatened because they’re going to be struck out by a girl or woman…. There’s a lot of gender issues involved when it comes to accepting a woman athlete on par with a male athlete on male teams.”

Stay very far away from the game I love. Can I have one pleasure in life that hasn't been feminized? I take my baseball very seriously.

Let popular media report on all male short commings. Men's brain shrink more with again. Men only use half their brains when communicating. Men die earlier and more often than women. Men are weak. Men are violent. Men are dumb... but propose the obvious and easily quantifiable fact that the vast majority of women lack the physical attributes to compete in pro men's sports...let's put our heads in the sand an pretend it's not so! It CAN'T BE TRUE! THAT'S SEXIST!

the reason they don't play mens' upper level sports isn't
because of any rules keeping them out.
they just aren't able to compete w/o SPECIAL rules, like the
short tees in golf. i thought that japanese female teenager
"qualified" for play w/ men once. from the short tees i'm sure.

i would say let them in. only problem, they will immediately
try to change the rules to fit. we would have to implement affirmative
action on the playing field, and probably have their lawyers
sitting in the stands ready to cry foul and sue when they don't produce
or get to play, or get cut, or if they FEEL threatened. no spitting,
no rough language, by the men only, no veiled sexual
references, and on and on. quality would immediately suffer. quotas.
soon the gov would have to subsidize the game. then men would get blamed
for not being the men should be, or once were. the Y chromosome failing,
and all that excuse crap.

sound familiar? sports really do reflect real life, w/ all it's lessons
to be learned.

everything is about women though don't ya know, and EVERYTHING they
touch or try to control turns to sh!t.

there is a reason for that too.
