"Remember the ladies": More 'affirmative action' needed for women

Article here. Jared Polis, a Colorado congressman, argues that the current stimulus package will favor men because many of the jobs created will be in construction. He proposes requiring construction companies to increase the number of women working for them--in short, another affirmative action program for women. Excerpt:

'The economic recovery package before Congress this week is largely devoted to infrastructure investment--transportation and school projects, energy efficiency improvements, and green economy investments such as smart grid expansions -- to jump-start our economy and create hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Unfortunately, while President Obama is to be applauded for proposing such a robust investment, the proposed infrastructure spending overwhelmingly benefits men and won't be of much help to unemployed women. Without efforts to increase workforce diversity, this could lead to a massive shift of hundreds of billions of dollars of wealth from women to men.
...
Congressman Jared Polis is a former Chairman of the Colorado State Board of Education and was elected in 2008 to represent Colorado's second congressional district, where he serves on the House Education and Labor, Rules, and Democratic Steering Committees.'

I just saw this in the Denver Post, but el cid beat me to it in posting it here. Jared Polis' article of course appears in the liberal Boulder Daily Camera as he is the new representative for Colorado's 2nd. congressional district, which is dominated by Boulder (i.e. Berkeley East).

Wow. What can I say? So the fact that most construction jobs are done by men in often unpleasant and dangerous conditions means that women are being discriminated against? Over 90% of workplace deaths are of men, often in industries like construction. And never mind the fact that many women are benefitting from men's labor in construction through their salaries as most men in construction are likely to be married. Or that the infrastructure that these men build creates a more comfortable world for women and men alike.

And I'm not even sure why he's linking this flawed reasoning to a quote by Abigail Adams over 200 years ago that makes some vague reference to women not being treated in a "favorable and generous" manner. Wasn't the Revolutionary War fought entirely by men, while women at the time reaped the benefits?

I think I'll post these comments to the Denver Post and Boulder Daily Camera.

"this could lead to a massive shift of hundreds of billions of dollars of wealth from women to men."

How does that work? He's talking as if the money was reserved for women but is now going to men. So, this guy would have no problem if all, or most of the money went to women because that's fair in the eyes of feminists. Screw him, women are by and large useless in contruction and will only slow men down.

Forget about any affirmative actions and don't pay attention to what idiots say. Stupid cunts are useless and no one is going to waste money on them anymore (first of all because there is no any money to waste anymore). All the brainless male feminist idiots are in extreme pain now because of this and soon they will begin to kill themselves in droves.

I thought the quote was interesting in that it implied that women were once not the over privileged social aristocratic leech class like they are today.

...as I recall reading, the economic downturn is falling disproportionately on the male population, especially in the manufacturing sector, are they crying crocodile tears about women not getting the lion's share of the recovery?

This recommendation is like the one regarding the boy crisis in Canada: Boys are lagging behind girls, so we should create more GIRL programs.

"Worse still, there is evidence that women who lose their jobs face a harder time finding new jobs than their male counterparts."

Boo friggin' hoo! Men are more likely to lose their jobs period. I think it's something like four times more likely.

This is a fine example of the feminist tactic of 'cut and paste' statistics. Choose the ones you want. Ignore the other ones! Or if you have to, make some up.

Women suicides on the rise

the number of women taking the extreme step has seen a rise by 10 pc, according to the Mysore city crime record bureau statistics.

It's certainly, that many male feminists on this board will not take this grave statistics lightly and in the act of solidarity they will follow those poor women who took their lives.

there is even more excruciating pain for male feminists:

Alcohol death rates DOUBLE among British middle-aged women

It seems, that the whole life for male feminists is just an endless torture.

Yes it was.
But remember what Hillary told the legions of women, that "women are the primary victims of war".
As if they do any fighting.
