Pepto Bismol and Coors Light Run Misandric Commercials

Another member of this site has recently submitted an article nominating two companies for boycott. I have two more to go with them.

Pepto Bismol:
In this ad, a woman is on the phone with an agent from Pepto Bismol's customer questions line, and tells him, "Rex got into everything last night." The agent asks her what he ate. She lists several things, and ends the list off with "and of course dog treats." The agent then tells her that dogs are not covered. She responds, "Charlie is my dog. Rex is my husband."

I don't see how it makes sense to compare half of your customer base to dogs, and expect them to want to buy your product. Perhaps the ad-execs who came up with this should be compared to dogs instead. I would much rather suffer from nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, or diarrhea than use their product.

Coors Light:
A woman from Coors Light tries to explain to an all-male focus group (heaven forbid gender neutrality!), that when their beer is 'certified cold' the mountain on the label will turn blue. They all have difficulty understanding and ask her questions like "when does the beer turn blue?" and "when does the label turn to beer?" It ends off with all of the focus group looking outside at the mountains, another man asking them what they're doing, and one of them responding by saying, "the mountains are about to change colour".

I think we should take the time to write these companies emails explaining to them why these ads don't compel us to buy their products, and in fact deter us from doing so.

I would also like to end off by saying, as a side note, that the 'Office Park' Stride Ad is still running, and we should probably send them an email as well letting them know that every time we see that ad it reminds us not to buy their products.

Thanks for reading!

Coors is crap beer anyway... maybe they're trying to appeal to women since most men know better than to drink that swill.

Coors Lite is chick beer. I think Tampax is having a promotion where they give away a coupon for a free six pack of Coors Lite when women buy tampons.

I'll stick with Becks, or better yet -- Crown Royal.

i don't drink much alcohol in general so i can't argue with the quality of Coors light.

however, they're still trying to appeal to younger men if i trust their contest about the Coors Light manor. from what i know of it, you spend a few days there to party and there's a random chance you'll get the key to a room with a chick in it that'll do stuff (nothing very far i assume).

...IF you get the key to the right room so it's pretty likely the chicks happen to be there for a free vacation.

Please forgive the Rammstein reference. I couldn't resist.

I have links to the commercials:
Pepto Bismol Ad
Coors Light Ad
Stride Ad

It's sad how overrated the Stride ad is on YouTube. I see there's no shortage of retards in the world.
