Teens Charged In Nursing Home Abuse

'DECEMBER 2--A group of teenagers working at a Minnesota nursing home abused and sexually humiliated elderly residents suffering from Alzheimer's disease and dementia, prosecutors allege. The six young female caregivers were named yesterday in criminal complaints charging them with a variety of cruel behavior at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home in Albert Lea, a city in southern Minnesota.'

The County Attorney is quoted in the Star Trib today saying that the sentences will likely be suspended.

Little to save single women struggling in tough economic times
As people lose jobs in the recession, single women are going to be among the most vulnerable.
That's because most have little or no savings. So in an emergency, many won't have a stash of cash to get them through a tight stretch without work, according to research released Tuesday by the Consumer Federation of America.
"Clearly, women on their own face far greater financial challenges than do other Americans," said Ohio State University professor Catherine Montalto, author of the research with Consumer Federation Executive Director Stephen Brobeck.

i can see into the future
as soon as i heard about this i said "suspended sentences"
and when i later saw their pretty pic's i said "suspended sentences"
wonder did the cops let them pretty pose for the mug shots?
can any human being on this earth with half a brain
believe that if these were teenage boy/men abusing female
patients/residents in a similar manner they would have
gotten this slap on the wrist? more like serious prison time.
probably lifetime inclusion on the infamous sex offender lists as well.
how long are people going to keep letting this corrupt judiciary rule
over them? probably only until times REALLY get tough. can't hardly wait.
putting men only in jail is the new "rule of law".
