This is a result of society's negative perception of males. Females are "good, males are "bad". A mother who gives birth to the "bad" gender isn't going to be happy, probably unconsciously.

Though the study isn't a scientific knockout it is a good indicator of what is going on.

Actually, men are perceived negatively by a "society" which consists of feminists, daughter owners and idiots. And there are only two reasons for such perception: FEAR and JEALOUSY.

The male gender is stigmatized way more than the female one. After all, females are commonly referred to as "the fairer sex". I think the fact that women are more likely to get postnatal depression after giving birth to a boy is an indicator that subconsciously women like their daughters better than their sons. Rather sad but true.

I really hope they do eventually make an artificial womb. That would be a devastating blow to the monopoly women have on reproductive rights.

The article also states that in some cultures post-partum depression is greater when a woman gives birth to a girl.

So, the research suggests that there is some kind of social value that mothers attach to the gender of their babies, and it is culturally relative.

Obviously China would be the litmus test with its "one child per couple" population control policy ... the main consequence of which has been incredible levels of female infanticide.

But since they manufacture every commodity sold at Wal-Mart ... no problem with a quiet sexist genocide.

So I'm an idiot for noticing the obvious? Here's proof of the claim I made.

I saw on GlennSacks.com that sex ed videos teach girls that they will become like a piece of duct tape which becomes less and less perfect each time it is "used" and warns them not to become like the duct tape. This is implying that letting boys have sex with them is harmful to them. Stigmatization.

In movies and television, rapists and child molesters are almost always males. Even though there are countless cases of female rapists and child molesters. Stigmatization.

The bullshit 1 in 4 chance of rape statistic has been flung around (like the fece it is) for a long time now. And now a lot of men have to hear about how were all perverts considering how so many women get raped. Stigmatization.

In Texas a law was proposed which was to tax the patrons of strip clubs, and the money collected was to go to help victims of rape. This law implied that a harmless act like going to the strip club would lead to rapes; thus making male sexuality look bad, yet again. Stigmatization.

If you want more examples, just ask. But I think I've more than shattered your claim of me being an idiot as well as your claim that stigmatization does not occur.

Gents,

I am really going out on a limb to suggest that the "Fight Club" mentality here needs to be seriously examined.

Matt the Moderator can step in at any time and is well within his rights to send anyone "to the box."

It would be better, and evidence of some evolution, if the discussions in the neighborhood were not too frequently tending towards flames instead of actual dialogue, analysis, and give-and-take.

If MRAs on the pioneering front of a movement cannot moderate their own anger, then how in the world will this so-called "movement" ever be taken seriously?

I have previously been among the worst flame-throwers, but I am seeking another path now, because it is illogical to continue what does not work.

It is not necessary to agree on everything, or even anything.

But it is necessary to respect other men's voices.

And a little joking now and again should be seen as a symbol of respect for that person's contributions.

I spent years in college on the southside of Chicago and I was usually the only white bwoy on the neighborhood basketball court.

The other members of the site appreciate the contributions I make. Why should it bother me if one person out of the countless others doesn't? I just don't appreciate being called names when I actually have something to contribute.
