'Recently, a friend showed me a sobering graphic depicting the gender disparity in suicide rates between men and women. While females tend to attempt suicide more often than men (and experience suicidal thoughts more frequently,) males are more "successful" in completing the act.

There are a lot of reasons for the striking difference along gender lines, but one thing is clear: Men are in crisis mode, and that crisis starts from early adolescence and carries all the way through to old age.

Years ago, Christina Hoff Somers wrote a book called "The War On Boys." It was a welcome response to the volumes devoted to exposing the horrible state of girls in society, the Ophelias who were drowning in their own despair. Years of the second and third feminist waves were devoted to examining the particular problems facing females at school, at work, in love and at every level of their lives. Men were either ignored, ridiculed or in the worst case, demonized.

'A New York City columnist who created the notorious 'Sh***y Media Men' list detailing allegations of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct could still go to trial for defamation after a judge declined to resolve the case in her favor.

Moira Donegan, 32, who created the widely circulated list in 2017 at the height of the #MeToo movement, was sued by New Orleans-based journalist Stephen Elliott after the Google spreadsheet accused him of rape, sexual harassment and 'coercion.' Elliott's lawsuit claimed the allegations are 'false' and 'unsubstantiated.'

Donegan's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, sought immunity for her client under a controversial law protecting social media users who host or republish information from being held legally responsible for what others do or say online.

The 88-year-old revealed her fears for maleness in a recent interview when a New York Times reporter insinuated today’s culture prefers more gender-neutral terms than those of old.

'Women in a West London town are angry at the looming closure of a local women-only gym as their religious beliefs mean it's the only place they feel comfortable working out. Female members of the Southall Sports Centre shared their heartbreak that the gym is due to close forever this week and say it will leave them with nowhere to exercise.

Southall Sports Centre will close its doors on March 31 to make way for an expansion of the West London College next door. The gym has a women-only sauna and exercise area, which attracts female members who don’t want to work out with men for reasons of comfort, modesty or religion.'

Candidates must have at least three years of collegiate or professional experience in coaching football. Those persons will receive a one-year contract with a salary and benefits, the organization announced

'The New York State Police has signed onto the "30X30 Pledge," committing to increasing representation of women on the force and improving the experiences of women in law enforcement.

As part of the pledge, the State Police will take on the goal of ensuring women comprise at least 30% of its new recruitment classes by 2030. Female membership of the force currently stands at 11.6%, which is not far off from the state's 12% rate of female police officers in the country.

"The future success of our agency will rest on our ability to attract the most talented and diverse group of candidates possible to become New York State Troopers," State Police Superintendent Kevin P. Now, a study claims that these typically masculine titles are sexist and undermine women's roles as leaders at work.

Researchers from the University of Houston found that the title of Chairman increases assumptions that a leader is a man, more than the title of Chair.

Allison M.N. Archer, who led the study, said: 'While some dismiss gender-neutral titles as "political correctness", this research suggests that implicitly sexist language in masculine titles reinforces stereotypes that tie masculinity to leadership and consequently, weaken the connection between women and leadership.''

'The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is investigating Boise State University after a complaint that a scholarship for women in certain fields discriminates against students based on sex.

In a letter obtained by the Idaho Statesman, the federal agency said it is proceeding with an investigation, but has not determined the merits of the claim.

The complaint was filed after a scholarship was created at the university specifically for women studying science, technology, engineering, math, medicine or the law — in response to a tenured professor’s public comments that women shouldn’t be recruited into those fields.

The complaint, filed in January, alleged the university was “discriminating against male students, based on sex, by offering the Boise State Women in STEM, Medicine and Law Scholarship, for which only female students are eligible,” according to the OCR letter. The letter was first reported by Idaho Dispatch.'

'This column might win me no fans on college campuses, but there is something that must be said.

Universities across the country are unconstitutionally punishing those accused of sex-based misconduct with no regard to the civil rights guaranteed of due process. They say they are acting lawfully under the so-called Title IX law of 1972. But the meaning of that law has been twisted over the years by a tortured Victorian-era school of thought almost beyond comprehension.

The law is simple: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” It was enacted to make sure, among other things, that female students got as much money for their sports programs as male students.

These days, Title IX is invoked for all manner of student grievances.

'A 26-year-old woman has admitted making a false accusation that she was raped.

Jade Wass from Darlington, appeared at Teesside Crown Court to admit perverting the course of justice.

The charge states she made a false report to the police in July 2020 that she had been raped by a man only referred to in court as 'X' to protect his identity.

It was said she repeated the allegation in person to a named police officer the following day, then again two days later during a video interview.

Judge Howard Crowson adjourned sentencing to allow a psychiatric report to be prepared.'
