'Atlanta Braves great and MLB Hall of Famer Tom Glavine spoke with OutKick's Dan Dakich on Don't @ Me With Dan Dakich and Bauer came up. Glavine's perspective on the timing and the length of the suspension was interesting, especially in light of Bauer's revelation in the video that he was never charged despite investigations by multiple law enforcement bodies and won the only court case that was brought against him:
“You can't go back in time and put in and be three years younger and play. I think there needs to be a little bit of a conversation about how we handle these things, because in the end, there is a chance that the guys that are being accused didn't do anything wrong or they get found they’re not doing anything wrong and you can't get that time back. So I'm not sitting here and suggesting that I know the answer, but I just feel for guys when they get into a situation like that, it seems like the knee jerk reaction immediately now is, oh, we have to do something because it's, it's kind of a hot topic issue, so to speak.”'

'A Tennessee teacher charged with having sex with her then 12-year-old student told the boy she’s pregnant with his child and wants to keep the baby, according to a report.
Alissa McCommon, 38, was initially arrested late last month and had her bond revoked for communicating with her victim in texts and phone calls.
In a call to the minor played in court Tuesday the mother of two said she was ready to bring their alleged child into the world.
“I’m going to raise this baby. I can do this,” she stated on the recording played in court Tuesday.
...
In addition to prior rape charges, she is now facing additional stalking, harassment and coercion raps.'

'Feminism and wokeness have accomplished nothing less than the destabilization of civilization.”
Owen Strachan isn’t mincing words when it comes to what he says is the dual-headed cultural assault on biblical masculinity.
Rather, for Strachan, a research professor of theology at Grace Bible Theology Seminary and author of The War on Men: Why Society Hates Them and Why We Need Them, the rise of “toxic masculinity” is actually symptomatic of larger threats.
“Feminism, paganism, and godless wokeness have attacked strong manhood relentlessly for decades now,” he told The Christian Post via email. “These evil ideologies have had a ferocious effect on the home, the church and society. They have weakened men to breaking point.
“If you weaken men, it turns out, you weaken everyone.”

'Sexism is leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths from preventable cancers every year, a new report claims.
'Unconscious' gender biases and discrimination are hindering women's access to cancer prevention, care and treatment, which is lowering their chance of survival, according to a report into gender inequalities in cancer.
A team of international researchers, who studied women and cancer in 185 countries, found 800,000 women worldwide, including 24,000 in the UK, are dying needlessly every year as a result.
The Lancet Commission criticised the narrow focus on 'women's cancers', with conversations focusing on breast and cervical forms of the disease and neglecting lung and bowel cancer — two of causes of cancer death among women globally.
They called for a 'feminist approach' to the disease to boost diagnoses and care, warning that women are dying 'in the prime of their life'.'

'Why then isn’t misogyny a straightforward hate crime?
If an individual says on television that they wouldn’t want to shag you because you’re black / brown / Jewish / Muslim / Irish, etc, they are not just being vile, but liable for prosecution.
However, say it about a woman on the basis of her womanhood, and she’s fair game.
There are no legal repercussions for the hatred of women, unless you actually rape or kill one.'

'A dental receptionist sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy after she began chatting him up at random following a white wine binge.
Jade Berry, 27, was staggering through Rivacre Valley Country Park in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, at 9pm when she accosted the child as he sat on a woodland bench talking with a friend about his forthcoming 14th birthday.
Berry sat between the two boys and began stroking the 13-year-old's genitals over his clothing before offering him sex and saying she would 'ride you till morning'.
As the shocked youngster and his friend got up to leave, she pulled down her trousers and exposed herself before passing out in a drunken stupor.
The two boys took videos of Berry before getting up to leave. She was identified after leaving her bank card and phone on the bench.'

'A conference meant to provide a space for women and non-binary technologists was overrun by men — and attendees report standing in hours-long lines to talk to recruiters, being shoved and harassed, and watching men jump over escalators to cut in line ahead of other attendees. Conference organizers also said that some attendees lied about their gender when they registered for the event.
The Grace Hopper Celebration, named for the pioneering computer scientist, was hosted by AnitaB.org in Orlando, Florida last week, and “brings the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront,” according to the website. The conference welcomes all genders, but organizers encourage men to come as allies to women and non-binary technologists. This year, people who were there reported a massive influx of male attendees at the conference, who seemingly behaved like they were in the Hunger Games for computer scientists.'

'Former MLB star pitcher Trevor Bauer, who played baseball in Japan this past season, has reportedly come to a settlement after a legal battle with a San Diego woman. The woman, Lindsey Hill, accused the 2020 NL Cy Young winner of battery and sexual assault. Bauer later sued her due to defamation before she also sued him. Bauer's attorney's released a statement on the matter, a source shared with ClutchPoints.
Bauer also shared a video to social media, where he revealed shocking details about the situation and explained his decision to sue Hill. The following video, titled “Lindsey Hill's Concealed Texts Finally Exposed”, is from Bauer's YouTube account.

'Carlos Kalmar, principal conductor and director of the orchestral studies program at the Cleveland Institute of Music, has “entered into a leave of absence” for the remainder of the semester, according to a CIM spokesperson.
The move comes two weeks after students staged a sit-in to protest Kalmar. Many students attended rehearsal without instruments, and others sat in the audience space in support.
The conductor was investigated earlier this year -- and cleared -- following allegations of inappropriate conduct.
Student government had circulated a petition calling for his resignation. A flyer about the protests said students had “lost trust” in him and were uncomfortable under his leadership.
The school responded to the protests with a statement saying that administration was working with students “to create opportunities for discussion.” A planned Sept. 26 performance at Severance Hall, under Kalmar’s baton, was also canceled.'

'This belittling attitude towards men doesn’t stop at the Barbie movie. Similarly to how critical race theory focuses its attention on white people instead of lifting up people of colour, critical feminist theory tears down men instead of addressing the real concerns of women. The conversation around domestic violence and sexual assault seldom seems to be about the victims but instead about unrelated males. Look no further than the “Kill All Men” hashtag going around social media after the tragic murder of Sarah Everard. Likewise, the #MeToo movement failed to develop into a support system for survivors. Instead it fuelled a toxic environment around a very sensitive subject that deserves a proper conversation.
The mainstream sentiment around men is not too dissimilar to that of the writer and self-proclaimed misandrist, Pauline Harmange, known for her 2020 best-selling book, I Hate Men. Harmange writes, “What if women have good reasons to detest men? What if anger towards men is in fact a joyful and emancipating path when it is allowed to express itself?”

'It found the MoD indirectly discriminated against Koren Brown on the grounds of sex when she was not given the chance to formally take an alternative test.
Ms Brown said she had taken legal action in the hope this would not happen again.
The BBC understands the MoD is appealing.
The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) is a civilian force responsible for protecting sensitive sites across the UK.
Koren Brown, originally from Dunblane, first thought about joining the police in primary school. In 2015 she applied to the MoD force and said she was "so happy" when she was successful.
All armed officers recruited after 2014 were required to reach level 7.6 in a fitness test commonly known as the "bleep test." This involves participants running back and forth between two points at increasing speed.
The tribunal said it seemed clear that women would find it more difficult than men to pass the test at the higher level because of "innate biological reasons."

'During a debate on Sky News, Connor Tomlinson was arguing for ‘free speech’ and insisted Laurence Fox should not be removed from the TV channel over his derogatory comments about Evans after he was suspended.
In order to illustrate his point, the GB News commentator referred to a past debate he’d had with Evans.
‘Ava said women should weaponise false rape allegations in order to keep men afraid of actually committing sexual assault, and when I questioned this she implied that me and my friends would only be afraid of this if we are potential rapists.
‘She’s suffered no repercussions for that.’
He concluded: ‘Should Ava suffer consequences for that?’'

'Activists on social media have been quick to point out that the use of legal speech in a way that could be described as weaponising opens the door for people to accuse alleged victims of making false rape allegations.
Gina Martin, a gender equality activist, writer, speaker and author of Be The Change and No Offence, But…. explains how the use of legal language and legal maxims across social media shapes the discourse and perceptions of sexual violence against women and girls.
″”Innocent until guilty” is a common response that comes up in response to allegations of sexual violence against famous and powerful men – it was popular online during the #metoo movement too – but its usage is a problem,” she says.
Martin tells me how weaponising the legal maxim ends up doing more harm than good by quashing public discussion about allegations. “It is being used to silence discussions from mostly women and people living under misogyny.”

'The growth of artificial intelligence has shown the technology’s potential to create new ways of working, but also to exacerbate existing inequalities and stereotypes. At UN Women’s recent HeForShe Summit, leaders from the public and private sectors discussed the potential risks of AI, and the need to develop the technology safely.
At the summit, leaders discussed factors that are shaping dominant narratives around masculinity today, and offered concrete positive alternatives for men to foster allyship and leadership in the pursuit for gender equality under the call to be respectfully disruptive.'

'Duke University is under scrutiny by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights after a watchdog filed a complaint alleging a campus female-only program violates federal law.
The watchdog, Mark J. Perry, claims that Duke’s female-only Alice M. Baldwin Scholars Program is a violation of Title IX as it “operates exclusively for female students and illegally excludes and discriminates against non-female students based on their sex and gender identity.”
The program, which aims to support female leaders on campus, also violates the university’s own policy on nondiscrimination, according to Perry.
Title IX does not have “unless you have good intentions” exceptions, Perry told The College Fix, saying “sex-based discrimination is still unlawful even if it advantages the ‘right’ sex for the ‘right’ reason.”'
