Well, it just keeps happening. Another man has been exonerated through DNA evidence (or lack thereof), of a rape that happened 21 years ago.

A particularly noteworthy point in this story is the falsely accused man never admitted to the rape, and lost several chances at making parole because of that. Turns out he did the right thing. Now, I hope his lawyers do the right thing and get him a huge monetary settlement from the state. The only way to get rid of institutionalized misandry is to make it costly.

During the June 2006 meeting of the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Men, UNH Family Violence Professor Murry Straus testified on domestic violence issues, and answered questions regarding the Conflict Tactics Scale. Foster's Daily Democrat reported on Dr. Straus' testimony today, but as of this time the article is not available on the Foster's web site. Read more below to view a temporary version of the article. Researcher calls for women to stop abusing men

CONCORD — Murray Straus says its time for a men's movement.

Posters and broadcasts on partner violence always portray male perpetrators and female victims, he said. According to his new research findings, that leaves the other half out of the picture.

BBC News reports here that two girls reportedly mugged a guy that they made contact with on the MySpace site.

From the article: "Two teenage girls in the US have been charged with holding up at gunpoint a man they are said to have contacted on social networking website MySpace.com.

Yana Galilova and Rafaella Yusupova, 14 and 13, are accused of armed robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. The girls, from Florida, are said to have posed as an 18-year-old to lure men into chatting to them online."

Of course, the article then immediately sets about mentioning a previous incident of a man sexually assaulting a girl he met on MySpace as if to balance out any idea that girls can be evil all on their own.

NCFM is caught up in a battle between two rival newspapers. One is honest and ethical about DV stats, etc., while the other insists on PCness, bias and reactionism.Please write letters in support of NCFM-LA and editor Steve Tobia of the Mountain Valley News. Tobia had printed a positive article on NCFM-LA that cited the DV data and admitted he was wrong in previously citing the 95% DV figure.
In response, editor Larry Wilson of the Pasadena Star News criticized Tobia, attacked NCFM and reactively dismissed NCFM's claim about gender and DV by quoting a local DV shelter and a cop but without looking at randomized research. Tobia then defended himself and the 50/50 data, citing Gelles and the New Hampshire Commission on the Status of Men, and challenged Wilson (.pdf file) for his PCness, bias and personal motives. He also printed two letters to the editor supporting NCFM-LA.

AP: You have apologized for your controversial remarks that innate ability may partly explain why fewer women reach top-level science jobs, but you also said any idea should be on the table as a university. How do you reconcile that?

Summers: As president I bear responsibility for the signal that my remarks send, and the signal that was sent by those remarks was anything but what I intended or what I believe. And so I have taken responsibility for that. At the same time, no subject should be off limits for academic research in a university, and at a time when 30 percent more women are graduating from college than men, I think we ignore the whole topic of gender differences in learning styles very much at our peril.

Pastor's wife said she 'snapped', agent testified

SELMER, Tennessee (AP) -- A woman charged with murdering her minister husband told police she shot him after they argued over family finances and then told him "I'm sorry" as he lay dying in their bedroom, according to testimony at a bail hearing Friday.
