Via Jeremy S. who comments: "And please note in 5 of the 6 cases they were deemed insane. How many Fathers would have been so diagnosed had they been the murderers-rare though an incident such as that would be?" Article here. Excerpt:
'Darlie Lynn Routier, 40, of Rowlett is on death row for the June 1996 stabbing death of her 5-year-old son, Damon. She also was charged with killing his older brother, Devon, who was 6, but was not tried in that case. She has long contended that an unidentified intruder attacked them all, killing her boys and stabbing her, as well. Prosecutors say Routier killed her kids because they interfered with the lifestyle she wanted to live.
Andrea Yates, 46, of Houston drowned her five children in June 2001, believing she was protecting them from Satan. A jury found her not guilty by reason of insanity and she was ordered into a state mental hospital.'

'A Palestinian man has been convicted of rape ‘by deception’ after having consensual sex with a woman who had believed him to be a fellow Jew.
Sabbar Kashur, 30, who had introduced himself as Daniel, was only charged with the offence when she later realised he was an Arab.
A court in Jerusalem made international legal history by jailing the delivery driver for 18 months despite acknowledging it had not been ‘a ‘a classical rape by force’.

I caught the PBS News Hour tonight at 10:00 EST here in the US. In the second half of the show, Dr. Anthony Fauci was interviewed from the AIDS 2010 summit in Austria. Two things he said leapt out at me: first he mentioned that along with circumcision of the male (fast forward to time mark 6:10 in the video), HIV spread risk to women could be substantially cut along with consistent use of the gel. Is there definitive evidence to show that circumcision in men cuts HIV transmission risk? I have yet to see it. And even if it did, if the sexes were reversed, would people be advocating for the same treatment of women? All our sex organs are essentially made from the same type of skin and in both cases, there are lots of places germs and viruses can wait for their turn to go elsewhere.

'A Chicago area father claims in a lawsuit that Southwest Airlines failed to protect his teenage son from an older female passenger who made sexual advances and offered him illegal drugs during a flight two years ago.
The incident occurred on a July 2008 flight from Chicago's Midway Airport to Orlando, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Cook County Circuit Court.
The boy, who was 14 at the time, asked flight attendants to switch his seat multiple times but "was emphatically told no," the lawsuit said.'

"What a depressing week it has been to be female. A psychopathically violent woman-beater and murderer is lionised. A film director who drugs and then sodomises a 13-year-old girl is let off. A famous actor tells his ex-partner she deserves to be "raped by a pack of niggers". And the Catholic Church elevates women's ordination to the same level of offence as child abuse. Thanks, chaps.

The real problem is that 21st-century Britain still undervalues women, and particularly older ones. Open any newspaper, look at any billboard, switch on the TV or read a magazine and you will search almost in vain for a picture of a woman over 50. Girls may be doing better than boys at school, but it is ridiculous to claim that men are being marginalised. They still have the best jobs, the most money and the preponderance of power. And when women make any progress, however small, that is exaggerated to suggest that they are somehow taking over from men.

'Steve Niro got married in 1981 at age 23 and divorced less than five years later. At the time of the divorce, he and his wife were in their late 20s, and both were working. Niro remarried nearly 15 years ago, but he’s still paying his alimony.
Two years ago, Niro’s youngest son graduated from college, ending child support payments and leaving his former wife with alimony of $65 a week. “The next thing I know, I get summonsed to court for alimony adjustment,’’ he says. A probate court judge increased the alimony to $700 a week even though the couple had divorced nearly a quarter of a century ago — five times longer than they were married.

I am happy to see a site that helps Men to improve their lives. I am a woman, wife and mother of both a boy and a girl. I believe in equal rights for everybody. I also believe that we are born with what nature intended for us to have. When I was pregnant with my son, I was asked if I would have him circumcised. I researched the procedure and found absolutely no proven benefit to cutting a male's foreskin. I did however find many proven potential side effects of cutting, from increased sensitivity to pain, infection, amputation to death! After researching the matter, my husband and I agreed that it would be sick to have our son's perfect anatomy mutilated for no reason. I am writing this to create some more awareness of this very important Male-Rights issue. It's time people started to think about their Sons' health and well being and choose to protect their sons from unnecessary genital mutilation.
I am a Proud Mother of a Healthy, Happy, Intact Boy!

If you're a pro-equality MRA (male or female), and able to attend a weekly brainstorming meeting in Central London on a Tuesday evening for two hours, we would like to hear from you - our mission: To manufacture the ultimate MRA stand up comedian.
A lot of comedians appear to be MRAs at heart, but can usually only manage about two jokes on the subject before moving to safer ground. For a standup to deliver solely MRA material for several minutes will be a challenge - but we have a unique plan to get the most out of the group dynamic, to produce material far beyond the sum of our parts. You may be good with concepts and set-ups, or you may be good with language, or you may be good with punch-lines. Whatever you have to offer, we would like to hear from you.
If interested, email with a little bit about yourself - and please have a go at completing in your own way, the following sayings: Behind every great man... ? A woman needs a man like a... ? Boys will be... ? No woman... ? It's a man's... ? Hell hath no fury... ?

'Let’s face it. Pussy is power. It always has been. Pussy power is so great that women can have an entire world of men working like dogs and handing over their money, yielding seats on life boats, opening their doors, acting like trained seals for their approval, agreeing with whatever bullshit comes out of their mouths, and at the same time have those men nodding and agreeing when women claim that men have all the power and need to do more to make things better for women.
True to their unfortunate nature, men will pass laws, lock each other up and brutalize each other to make sure that all these feminine biddings are done.
If that isn’t power, I’ll eat my hat. And if you don’t believe me, ask Sampson, Dillinger, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Tiger Woods, the Duke Three, The Hofstra Five or any of about a million men, from average to “powerful,” who have had their heads handed to them by even the weakest of women.

'Chicago Ridge officials are not commenting after a village employee was charged with holding parties at her home where she allegedly sexually assaulted four teenage boys while providing them marijuana and alcohol.
Cathleen M. Miller, 40, of the 5800 block of West 109th Street in Chicago Ridge, is charged with three counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of criminal sexual abuse, according to Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin. At the Bridgeview courthouse on Tuesday, Miller was ordered held on $900,000 bond, he said.
Miller, who is employed as a secretary for the Chicago Ridge Village Hall, was arrested Monday following an investigation by police and the state's attorney's office, according to Chicago Ridge police.
Chicago Ridge Mayor Eugene Siegel declined to comment on the case in a statement released Thursday, except to say his "thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, as well as with Miller's family."

'The home secretary has said the coalition government aims to end violence against women and girls. Theresa May, also minister for women, pledged more funding for an existing pilot scheme that helps immigrants who are victims of domestic violence.
Ms May told a Women's Aid conference she would also look into using fines criminals pay towards victims' services to open more rape crisis centres.
They would also devise "real solutions" for preventing violence, she added.
The annual conference, organised by Women's Aid, included delegates mainly from the charity's membership of more than 370 regional domestic and sexual violence services.
Following the speech Women's Aid chief executive Nicola Harwin said they were looking forward to working with the government.

'People that were familiar with my writing before the re-launch of this site will probably recall some of my work regarding a newly branded concept of masculinity that I have coined as belonging to the Zeta Male. For those not familiar with it, I give it a fairly complete treatment in the essay The Plague of Modern Masculinity.
In a nutshell, though, zeta masculinity describes a form of manhood that is counter biological in that it is a consciously chosen path of self preservation vs. the genetic mandate to sacrifice where it concerns women. To say it is anti chivalrous is an understatement, and to say it is anti female is a misconception, unless you consider treating women as your equals to be anti-female.
