Jerry Nadler promises higher taxes for ‘rich white men’ if Democrats take Congress

Article here. Excerpt:

'Rep. Jerry Nadler promised this week that rich white men will “certainly” be hit with higher taxes should Democrats retake Congress.

The longtime New York lawmaker made the apparently serious vow to comedian Lionel McGloin, who posed as a fluttering social media influencer on the floor of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he was credentialed as a reporter by The Free Press.

“Can we please this year — It’d be so brat — have a higher tax rate for rich white men?” McGloin asked a seated Nadler during an interview posted to YouTube Friday.

“Well, if you have a Democratic Congress, we certainly will,” Nadler said.

McGloin responded enthusiastically, “Yeah, baby, tax those rich old whities!”'

Former chief of staff sues California State Sen. Alvarado-Gil for sexual harassment, discrimination

Article here. This is one to watch. #believeallmen. Excerpt:

'California State Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil is facing a civil lawsuit filed by her ex-chief of staff who alleges the senator forced him to do sexual favors while she was his boss and he suffered a back injury because of it.
...
Her former chief of staff, Chad Condit, filed the civil lawsuit in Sacramento Superior Court on Thursday. The lawsuit includes allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and violations of other state labor laws. Condit portrayed Alvardo-Gil as an erratic, controlling, sexually abusive authority figure. "This was a sex-based quid pro quo relationship of unwelcome advances and sexual behaviors coupled with punishment and flexing of power," Condit alleged.

Condit worked for Alvarado-Gil first on her campaign when she ran as a Democrat for Senate District 4 in 2022. He became her chief of staff when she got elected and he was fired in December 2023.'

Virginia women’s college institutes new policy to keep college for women only, barring men

Article here. Excerpt:

'A private women’s college in Virginia announced that it would no longer allow males to join beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

Sweet Briar College’s Chair of the Board of Director Mason B. Rummel and its President Mary Pope M. Hutson announced the change in an email to the community this August. The college leaders explained the policy changes as a result of the will of the school founder, Indiana Fletcher Williams.

More specifically, Williams’s will mandated that Sweet Briar would be an institution for “girls and young women,” something that the college’s leadership notes “must be interpreted as it was understood at the time the Will was written”--meaning that men who “identify” as women could not be accepted into the women’s college.'

Boys Under Siege

Article here. Excerpt:

'Boys are under attack in schools.

How are they under attack? Well, they learn that:

  1. Their sex has caused the world's problems,
  2. That Men are privileged.
  3. That men are toxic and have oppressed women.
  4. That Men just need to step aside and let women run things, then things would be better.
  5. They learn that Boys are inherently inferior and simply need to try to be more like the girls.'

Israel’s Ultra-Orthodox Jews Are at a Crossroads as Military-Draft Orders Arrive

Article here. Excerpt:

'Israel’s ultra-Orthodox Jews, or Haredim as they prefer to be called, are at a critical juncture. So is the Israeli military, which, after a June Supreme Court ruling, is now aiming to draft some 3,000 Haredi men who had previously been exempted if they studied Jewish holy texts in religious seminaries full-time.

Despite the interest shown by young men like Wais, most Haredi leaders fear the military is a melting pot that will pull ultra-Orthodox men into mainstream Israeli culture. The military might soon have to decide how to handle large-scale draft dodging at a time when its struggle for additional manpower has been exacerbated by the nearly yearlong war in Gaza.'

Push for gender equality stalls as men dominate nominations for EU commission

Article here. Excerpt:

'With Friday's deadline approaching for European Union members to offer nominees for von der Leyen's 26-person team, 16 of the 21 names known so far are men.

After her re-election in July, the European Commission president had asked states specifically to give her a choice of one male and one female candidate.

Not a single country has done so. As it stands, as few as six women may hold posts in the next EU executive, including von der Leyen herself and the nominee for foreign policy chief, Estonia's outgoing prime minister Kaja Kallas.

The European Women's Lobby, an umbrella group working toward gender equality in the bloc, said the situation was indicative of an "old boys' club" mindset, calling it "beyond embarrassing".

"If member states truly believe only men are fit for these roles or that there are no qualified women in their countries, they're not just out of touch – they're delusional," the group's spokesperson Mirta Baselovic told French news agency AFP.'

How could the EU’s €140bn budget better help women’s rights?

Article here. Excerpt:

'The EU’s budget is worth around €140 billion per year – and top officials are saying it needs to better focus on promoting gender equality in an upcoming overhaul.

Far from being gender-neutral, public spending can perpetuate, reduce or increase existing inequalities between men and women, Euronews was told.

"Gender budgeting, as it's known, aims to promote equitable spending so that taxpayers' money can identify and remove barriers that negatively affect women and girls in the EU.

The EU budget – which invests significant funds in agriculture, infrastructure and science – is due to be overhauled starting in June next year, and plans for the next seven years seem likely to strengthen gender mainstreaming, a European Commission spokesperson told Euronews.'

Red Pill a Hate Movement?

Article here. Excerpt:

'As hard as feminists try to make the red pill movement about hating women they fail to do this at every turn. Why? Because the red pill is not about hate, it is about men waking up to their value as human beings. The default state for men in our culture is what is known as the blue pill attitude. What does this say? It says that a man's value is based on how well he accomplishes things, how much money he accumulates, how much education he gets, and on and on. It is based on winners and losers in the status game. What is the status game about? It's about getting the girl.'

Meet the incels and anti-feminists of Asia

Article here. Excerpt:

'KIM WOO-SeoK, a 31-year-old chef in Seoul, grew up questioning the way society treats women. He felt sorry for his stay-at-home mother. He considered himself a feminist. But over the past few years, his opinions have shifted. When he came across women activists online, he was shocked to see some of them were making demeaning comments about men, including making fun of small penises. “I felt like my masculinity was under attack,” says Mr Kim. He believes that, since the 2010s, Korean society has become more discriminatory against men than women. Although he has a girlfriend, many of those who share his beliefs in the region do not.
