Women can be drafted into the Danish military as Russian aggression and military investment grow

Article here. Excerpt:

'Katrine and other female soldiers, all of whom spoke to The Associated Press on June 11 on the condition that only their first names be used because of operational security, volunteered for military service earlier this year. Until now, that was the only way women were allowed to partake in military service, although women have been able to enlist as full-time members of the armed forces since the early 1970s.

The Scandinavian country is seeking to increase the number of young people in the military by extending compulsory enlistment to women for the first time. Men and women can both still volunteer, and the remaining places will be filled by a gender-neutral draft lottery.'

The War on Male Identity

Article here. Excerpt:

'By now, most of us have heard the term “brainwashing.” It usually brings to mind Cold War images of broken POWs or disturbing cult documentaries. But what if the most pervasive forms of psychological manipulation aren’t hidden in bunkers or religious compounds — but embedded in mainstream institutions that claim to promote justice?

Psychiatrist Robert Jay Lifton, who studied Communist reeducation camps in Maoist China, laid out the classic framework for understanding brainwashing. In his landmark work, Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism, Lifton identified eight core mechanisms that coercive systems use to break down and reshape the self.

At the heart of it? A psychological attack on your identity — followed by shame, blame, and the expectation that you publicly confess and “rebuild” yourself according to the group’s ideology.

Sound familiar?'

College study: There are too many ‘male-identified’ jazz educators

Article here. Excerpt:

'It probably comes as no surprise in this day and age that there exists a place called the “Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice” at Boston’s Berklee College of Music.

The institute claims jazz “remains predominantly male due to a biased system,” which “impos[es] a significant toll on those who aspire to work in it.”

So its main page asks right under the title banner “What would jazz sound like in a culture without patriarchy?”

A recent study by the institute appears to confirm the assertion as it shows “male-identified jazz educators” outnumber “female-identified counterparts” by six to one. The latter group comprises just eight percent of instrumental jazz instructors, and only 15 percent of all jazz faculty.'

Trans man 'blindsided' by all the loneliness and suspicion that comes with being male

Article here. Excerpt:

'Recently, a trans man opened up about the “culture shock” of navigating male loneliness, and shared how, if they had been forced to grow up with the often insidious messaging boys and men receive, it would have really damaged their psyche.

In a Reddit post, the man first got candid about the “social isolation” that comes from constantly being perceived as a "potential predator.”

While he noted that “all strangers, no matter their gender, keep their guard up around me,” women in particular came across as “incredibly aloof, cold, and mirthless." He did add the disclaimer that, as someone who used to have to protect themselves in the same way, they understood where the “armor” was coming from (“women aren’t just being needlessly guard[ed]”). But, for those who had never experienced life as a woman, he could easily see how this type of behavior could be viewed as “a conspiracy" against the other sex.'

Invisible Man: My Experience as a Male Trainee Clinical Psychologist in a Female-Dominated System

Article here. Excerpt:

'From the very first day of training, I sensed that I was unwelcome. The discomfort was immediate. I recall walking into a room and being met with expressions of unease—subtle, yet unmistakable. Despite my efforts to introduce myself and initiate conversations, it took over twenty minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. It felt as though I had been relegated to the margins before I’d even had a chance to participate. I felt invisible—discarded onto the proverbial muck heap.

Mothers Raise Children, Fathers Raise Adults

Article here. Excerpt:

'It’s a saying that provokes strong reactions: “Mothers raise children; fathers raise adults.”
At first glance, it seems to box parents into rigid roles. But when you dig into decades of family psychology and cross-cultural research, you find something profound: fathers, in particular, have a special knack for cultivating traits that help children not just survive, but thrive in the unpredictable, sometimes harsh realities of adult life.

One of the most powerful of these traits is resilience — the ability to recover from setbacks, navigate stress, and adapt to challenges without falling apart. When we look at how fathers tend to interact with their children, a consistent theme emerges: they build resilience in ways that complement the secure base mothers provide.'

When Women Are Radicalized

Article here. Excerpt:

'There is growing awareness of how young men can be drawn into far-right extremism or misogynistic subcultures, but we in the media—and society more broadly—pay less attention to how young women become drawn into political subcultures. Indeed, the terms “radicalization” and “women” are rarely—if ever—seen together. This oversight has consequences, because radicalization—defined as rigid commitment to an ideological cause to the point where it distorts one’s worldview, harms mental health, undermines relationships, or disrupts functioning—is not a male-only phenomenon.

Of course, political engagement is not, in itself, cause for concern. The fact that young women attend climate protests or BLM marches is not evidence of extremism. But if we imagine political engagement on a spectrum, the extreme end is not benign. And the failure to recognize this has allowed radicalism to flourish.

Women who hate men: a comparative analysis across extremist Reddit communities

Article here. Excerpt:

'In this context, while the global discourse on online misogyny is well-established the phenomenon of misandry remains a relatively underexplored and insufficiently acknowledged facet of the researched digital landscape.
...
This said, despite concerted efforts have been made to address hate speech targeting women and misogyny in broad sense, research on online misandry remains relatively scarce, thus not contributing in mitigating existing stereotypes and misconceptions. As an example, Nadim et al. show that more men than women experience online harassment, contrary to prevailing assumptions.
...
In this work, we investigate the dynamics of misogynistic and misandric communities on Reddit. Our examination entails a comprehensive analysis of linguistic features, the extraction of emotional nuances embedded within the textual content, and a structural graph-based analysis.'

‘Chivalry is dead’: What men just aren’t doing anymore

Article here. Excerpt:

'Is Chivalry dead? After a grown man practically trampled me to get on the bus recently, I’d be inclined to say yes.

He was in a suit and fun socks (boring finance bros tend to think quirky socks make them look fun), and he was on the verge of elbowing me to get a seat.

I was unnerved by his rugby scrum approach to public transport, it was a bit much for 8 a.m. and buses come every 10 minutes – but I wasn’t shocked

It wasn’t very chivalrous, but is that even a thing anymore? Is men letting women go first on public transport a dead concept?

Did it die when we started advocating for fair pay and the rights to our bodies? Is the price of equality that men just aren’t that polite anymore?

I want equal pay and men to follow the Titanic rule of women and children first.'

Draft talk: no mention of women

Read this article and note women aren't even mentioned as being even a remote possibility for Congressional action on a possible draft-- not that I think it's likely to happen anyway. Remarkable, isn't it? Excerpt:

'Legislation would need to be passed through Congress amending the Military Selective Service Act in order to reinstate a draft, according to the Selective Service Agency.

In 2015, then New York Democratic Representative Charles Rangel introduced a bill to re-instate a draft alongside a "War Tax" bill to point out the inequity of war as then President Barack Obama attempted to galvanize support for an Authorization for Use of Military Force against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
...
Currently, all men between 18 to 25 are required to register with the Selective Service System.

The Selective Service Agency states that, should a draft be reinstated, the first to receive induction orders would be those whose turn 20 years old during the year of the lottery.

Feminism is a Hate Group

Article here. From back in 2017, still true today. Excerpt:

'Feminism is a HATE GROUP.

Feminists claim they do not hate men, and yet there is absolutely no evidence to back up their assertion. The library is full of books containing hateful denouncements of men, hateful rhetoric aimed at men, and hateful attitudes and beliefs about men. Feminists routinely excoriate men both publicly, online, in books and media, and even in general entertainment. For people who claim to love men so much- I say PROVE IT.
...
Feminists don’t do anything for men– ever. Unless it somehow benefits Feminists *more*, first and foremost. The only thing that Feminists have for men is the back of their hand and their denouncements and slander and ugly vilification– the constant daily sludge of “Women Good, Men Bad” which oozes out of every media orifice.

Michelle Obama says she is ‘so glad’ she didn’t have a son: ‘Would have been a Barack Obama’

Article here. Excerpt:

'She’s not kidding around.

Former first lady Michelle Obama said she was “glad” she didn’t have a son because he would have turned out exactly like her husband, former President Barack Obama.

Obama, 61, doled out the ego-checking barb on Wednesday’s episode of “IMO,” the podcast she hosts with her brother Craig Robinson, as the siblings were chatting with Hot 97 radio personality Angie Martinez, who suggested the mother of two “should have threw a boy in the mix.”

“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy,” Sasha and Malia’s mom plainly stated.

“Because he would have been a Barack Obama. Ooh,” the “Becoming” author said, looking down and shaking her head for emphasis.
...
The episode focused extensively on parenting male children as Martinez has one son and Robinson has three boys.'
