'A review into the death of a 27-year-old man who took his own life after suffering sustained domestic abuse at the hands of his partner has highlighted concerns that not enough is done to help male victims.
In the report, his family claim he was "treated differently" by agencies intended to help people suffering from domestic abuse because he was a man and that police often took his partner's side, as she was a woman.
The review was carried out by the Norfolk Community Safety Partnership (NCSP) after a police investigation into his death uncovered the history of domestic abuse.
It describes how the father-of-two - who is anonymised as 'Val' in the report - was repeatedly assaulted by his partner, 'Kim', to the extent that he was left cut, bruised and bleeding.'

'Mr. Seremak’s plea to Judge Jackson below is not an isolated cry for help — it is part of a long, persistent effort to be heard. He has written extensively to those involved in his case, detailing a deeply troubling narrative that includes alleged domestic abuse by his former spouse, politically charged criminal accusations, and a denial of his constitutional right to a speedy trial. After enduring more than 400 days of incarceration, compounded by serious health issues, Mr. Seremak remains most devastated by the forced separation from his young daughter — a loss that continues to fuel his fight for justice.

'Charges have been dismissed against a man who was facing attempted kidnapping and other charges after a mother accused him of trying to grab her 2-year-old son from her at a Georgia Walmart, court records show.
Mahendra Patel encountered 26-year-old Caroline Miller with her two children riding a motorized cart she was driving in the March 18 incident at a Walmart in the city of Acworth, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta. He asked her for help to find Tylenol, his lawyer says. Miller alleged Patel then grabbed her 2-year-old son from her, but that she pulled the child back.
Patel’s lawyer, however, says surveillance videos prove he was just trying to make sure the boy didn’t fall from the scooter, which they said had just clipped a store display.

'So it goes with Perry, who has become one of the nation’s busiest litigants in the culture wars over diversity, equity and inclusion. Over nine years, he estimates he’s filed nearly 1,000 formal complaints alleging that college scholarships, programs and other opportunities based on gender or race violate federal civil-rights laws.
A hero to some and reviled by others, Perry said he’s notched a long list of successes: canceling a Minnesota high school field trip for students of color, the decision by Northwood College in Midland to open up to men a scholarship that had been reserved for women and making a Michigan State University 100-year women’s lounge co-ed.'

Despite this built-in privacy feature for its petty users, the same courtesy is not extended to its potential victims of reputation destruction, gossip, manipulation, and social exclusion; all patterns of female antisocial behavior. Women on this app can "access a nationwide forum of posts" and "set alerts for a man's name” so they “never miss any tea about [their] potential date, ex, or partner.”

'Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge is facing mounting criticism over how her department handled the brawl that erupted in the streets of downtown on July 25, while also being accused of workplace discrimination, the New York Post reported Saturday.
When video footage of the incident spread online, showing several people beating a man, and a woman being knocked unconscious, officials denounced the violent behavior, according to Breitbart News.
In addition, the Post report said Theetge was being sued by several officers who accused her of discriminating against white lieutenants when it came to promotions and assignments, noting the lawsuit was filed in May.
The officers in the suit have claimed the chief overlooked them and handed out the privileges to minority and female lieutenants.

'Gov. Gavin Newsom is the latest Democratic leader to address the question of how to solve rising rates of loneliness, substance use disorder, and economic stagnation among American men.
On Wednesday, he issued an executive order directing his administration to engage more men and boys by identifying civic volunteer opportunities, expanding mental health support, and recruiting more male teachers and school counselors.
Politicians on both sides of the aisle have trained their attention recently on how to improve educational, romantic and employment opportunities for men and boys, a phenomenon referred to as the “masculinity crisis.” The epidemic has been cited as a deciding factor in President Donald Trump’s reelection and as one of the reasons the Democratic Party’s popularity has plummeted to historic lows.'

Remeber back in 2018 the story about the island purchased by a successful American businesswoman that would be open as a resort to women only? What ever happened to it? Alas for her it seems the idea didn't pan out. In 2023 the island was sold to a shipping magnate for a million euros. The wikipedia entry is here. Intetestingly not many details are found there.

'This 2021 video explores the growing issue of fatherlessness, questioning whether it’s been deliberately engineered or simply allowed to happen. It exposes the fact that we knew even in the 1960’s the devastating impact of not having fathers in the home. It shows some little known, and basically ignored research about this issue. Yes, Dan Quayle was correct!'

'The 2025 tribal 'initiation ceremony' where teenage males in South Africa undergo agonising circumcision has ended – with 39 deaths and dozens more boys mutilated.
Despite a target being set by the Government of zero fatalities this year, the figure is still a huge drop on last year where 93 died, while a total of 361 boys have died in the last five years.
Gruesome complications in 2024 led to 11 penis amputations after unskilled traditional 'surgeons' used old spears and razor blades to perform the eye-watering rituals.'

'In the early 1990s, you could walk into a bookstore and find entire tables devoted to the male journey. Robert Bly’s Iron John was a bestseller. Sam Keen, James Hillman, Michael Meade, Robert Moore, Richard Rohr — all were offering soulful, intelligent takes on what it meant to be a man. It wasn’t about domination. It wasn’t about “reclaiming power.” It was about emotional honesty, growth, and purpose. In other words: maturity.
Fast forward to today, and you’ll find… almost nothing. Talk about masculinity now and the conversation quickly turns to toxicity, privilege, or fragile male egos. Where once there was myth, poetry, and psychology, we now get slogans and shame.
Why did this happen? Why is masculine maturity such a neglected subject?
Here are a few answers — and a couple of stories that may help explain why the silence around men runs so deep.'

This time, however, the invitation shared by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was different, featuring illustrations of only women.
"Tomorrow at our morning distribution at our location in the Saudi district, only women are welcome to come and receive a food box," the GHF post said. "Men should avoid the site during this distribution."

'Women are now better at being men than men themselves. At least, that’s the message from Streatham Wells Primary, where pupils are being taught that Hollywood actress Elliot Page — formerly Ellen — is a shining example of positive masculinity.
Page, who underwent a double mastectomy and now identifies as a man, is, according to headteacher Sarah Wordlaw, the embodiment of what boys should aspire to be. “We need to encourage empathy, kindness, showing emotions,” she said, “listening to alternative points of view, and developing emotional literacy.”
