Men have a problem – and it won’t be solved by either Andrew Tate or Caitlin Moran

Article here. Excerpt:

'The real problem, he claims, is that masculinity cannot be discussed in such singular terms. “If we asked a football fan, a vicar, and a banker to define ‘manliness’, we would probably get three very different answers,” he says. “When people talk about a ‘crisis of masculinity’, they are usually complaining that their preferred variety of masculinity seems to be losing prestige or influence relative to other forms of masculinity.” Today, we have ideas of masculinity coming from all angles, whether it’s in sociology, pop culture, advertising, charities, TikTok, government campaigns, or around a table in the pub. “Amid this cacophony of competing voices, it is harder than ever for any one form of masculinity to establish itself as culturally dominant,” says Dr Griffin. “To some people, that looks like a crisis.”'

UK Proposes Legal Defence for Domestic Violence Victims Who Harm or Kill Their Partners

Article here. Excerpt:

'The United Kingdom is considering sentencing reforms which would provide a legal defence to victims of domestic violence who harm or kill their perpetrators after being subjected to sustained abuse.

The proposal comes in the wake of an independent review into the adequacy of the way in which domestic violence complainants are treated in the criminal justice system, including whether current protections are sufficient to reduce the endemic problem of domestic abuse in the United Kingdom and provide justice for victims.

One of the reviews conclusions was there needs to be greater consideration of the mitigating factors and ‘special circumstances’ in cases where a victim kills their abuser after suffering prolonged and sustained abuse.

UK: Andrew Malkinson's rape conviction quashed after 20-year fight

Article here. Excerpt:

'Andrew Malkinson was jailed in 2004 for the attack on a woman in Salford, serving 17 years in prison for a crime he always said he did not commit.

His case was referred to the Court of Appeal in January after new evidence pointed to another potential suspect.

Mr Malkinson, 57, said: "I was innocent and finally they listened."

"But I have been innocent all along, for each of those 20 years that came before today," he said.

"It has taken nearly 20 years to persuade my kidnappers to let me go."

Overturning his conviction, Lord Justice Holroyd said Mr Malkinson could "leave the court free and no longer be subject to the conditions of licence".

Police also apologised for what they described as a "grave miscarriage of justice".'

Experts warn of ‘devastating effect’ as traditional male roles deemed ‘toxic’ by media, Hollywood

Article here. Excerpt:

'"Masculinity" has become a dirty word to some. The American Psychological Association has released guidelines calling traditional masculinity "harmful," and Hollywood has been open about its disdain, with movies such as last weekend's much-hyped "Barbie."

According to a recent Politico/Ipsos poll, 36% of Americans believe "entertainment and culture make it hard to feel proud to be a traditional guy." Similarly, 31% believe the Democrat Party is "hostile" to masculine values.

"It's pretty clear that the media views masculinity in only two ways: stupid or toxic," comedian Tim Young told Fox News Digital. "Like Barbieland, the concept of equality between men and women according to the media is fictional - and where there could be a chance to have everyone get along, their spin on things is to be divisive and put down men."

Ukraine war: Russia expands pool of men eligible for call-up

Article here. Excerpt:

'Russia is raising the maximum age at which men can be conscripted from 27 to 30, making more of them liable to serve in the armed forces.

The change was passed by the lower house of parliament on Tuesday.

The package of measures comes as Moscow seeks to boost troop numbers to defend territory gained in its invasion of Ukraine last year.

A senior Russian MP said the new law was written with a major conflict in mind.

"It already smells like a big war," Andrei Kartapolov, head of the Russian parliament's defence committee, told MPs.'

It's Time to Talk About What It Means to Be a Man in the U.S.

Article here. Excerpt:

'It's time to have a difficult conversation about manhood in the United States.

Young boys and men in this country are not okay, and we are all paying the price for it. Whether through mass shootings, high rates of suicide, sexual assault, and attacks against women, hate crimes, or even the insurrection on Jan. 6, 2020, some men are expressing their anger through violence and turning to despair and self-harm.

South Africa: Men challenged to work on developing new forms of masculinity

Article here. Excerpt:

'“Dominating, aggressive forms of hegemonic masculinity are not meeting the needs of men or women to live nurtured, emotive and interconnected lives. Because both women and men suffer under hegemonic masculinities, it is pivotal that men work toward gender equality and developing new forms of masculinities,” Tshoaedi said.

Hegemonic masculinity is defined as a practice that legitimises men's dominant position in society, while justifying the subordination of marginalised groups and women.

Tshoaedi argued that men’s involvement in gender equality will have a “humanising effect”.

“The concept of 'caring masculinities' encourages men to participate in projects on gender equality. It calls for the adoption of values and characteristics of care, which negate hegemonic masculinities.

“Caring masculinities requires men to rethink ideas of power and how we use that power. It calls for using one’s power to engage in resistance against patriarchal domination and control that is harmful,” Tshoaedi said.'

If I made a movie that treated women the way Barbie treats men, feminists would want me executed

Article here. Excerpt:

'What is the patriarchy?

I bet most people reading this haven’t a clue.

Even I don’t really understand it, and according to radical feminists, I’m supposed to be the very personification of what it supposedly represents.

Yet it’s a word that is said so relentlessly in the smash-hit new Barbie movie that it’s worth knowing exactly what it means.

The literal translation, derived from the ancient Greek word “patriarkhēs,” is “rule of the father” and denoted the reality at the time that men were the titular heads of most families and organizations.

But in recent times, the concept of “the patriarchy” has been hijacked and corrupted by feminazis to suggest that every aspect of life and society is dominated by powerful, privileged males over subjugated, underprivileged females.

In short: Men are evil oppressors, women are unimpeachably perfect victims, and anyone who dares challenge this notion is a disgusting misogynist.'

Biden Admin Gives Soros-Backed Group Millions To Teach Young Puerto Ricans About 'Toxic Masculinities'

Article here. Excerpt:

'The Biden administration gave $2 million to a George Soros-backed nonprofit to stop violent crime in Puerto Rico by teaching the island's young men about "structural racism and toxic masculinities."

President Joe Biden's Justice Department in October awarded the lucrative grant to Taller Salud, a "feminist, culturally specific nonprofit organization" in Puerto Rico. The money comes from the department's Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative, which aims to address crime through police alternatives. Taller Salud, which receives funding from liberal billionaire George Soros's Open Society Foundations, will use the $2 million to further implement its "community violence intervention program," which includes "public education campaigns" to address "structural racism and toxic masculinities" among Puerto Rican men between the ages of 15 and 30.'

UPS drivers ready to strike

'As a UPS delivery driver in Dallas, Texas, Seth Pacic is intimately familiar with the dangers of extreme heat. After a long day’s work through record-breaking temperatures in summer 2011, he found himself dry heaving in the parking lot, incapable of driving home until he spent an hour and a half in the air-conditioned office.

“It was one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had in my entire life,” he said. “I didn’t feel like I fully recovered for a couple of weeks.”'

Lesbian domestic violence proves it’s not just a male problem

Article here. Excerpt:

'You may recall the campaign running on national television a few years ago. The ads were part of the Australian government’s campaign designed ‘to help break the cycle of violence against women and their children’.

It suggested that all of the perpetrators of domestic violence were strictly male. For example, the Albanese Labor government is presently funding a range of new initiatives through this budget to help deliver the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-32.

But what about domestic violence against men?

I have no intention of minimising the problem of domestic violence against women and children. One must speak out loud and clear about violence against anyone regardless of age, gender, and sexual orientation.

However, it is a myth that domestic violence is all about men hurting women in heterosexual relationships. Domestic violence is also a ‘silent epidemic’ in lesbian relationships.
