CNN: Some ex-wives have to pay 'manimony'

'For most of the history of marriage, money changed hands before the ceremony, often in the form of dowries. But as divorce started to become more common in the 1900s, so did post-separation monetary agreements.

The Uniform Marriage and Divorce Act of 1970 gave men as well as women the right to ask for alimony. Up until the 1980s, however, there were only a handful of cases in the U.S. in which a woman was ordered to give money to her spouse in a divorce case. However, "in recent years there's been a greater movement towards gender equality," says Phillips.

Jeffrey Leving, an Illinois divorce lawyer and author of the book "Fathers' Rights" attributes a rising trend in women paying spousal support in part to an increased number of fathers serving as primary caregivers.

Chemtob says close to one-tenth of her clients are women who pay alimony to their exes. "When I first started 14 years ago, that number was zero," she says.'

It's still fairly rare where the woman pays the man alimony,even when she earns more.I've heard,in some "celeb" case's where the wife pays the ex alimony,but this is rare.The truth of the matter is,women will go after the bucks and most of the time they win. to many women marriage is a business,they'll marry some poor sucker 50 years their senior.This has been going on from the days of the caves,when the female gave her "favors" to the chump that dragged the most meat in.

not using the same criteria as applied to men

and even these small amounts not paid as well as by men.

yeah, i can see where these privileged ones would call
someone else a deadbeat.

didn't exactly get in on the brain train, eh?
but they sure as heck caught the one headed to entitlement city.

too bad about the lack of passengers boarding to marriage junction.
that train is being held up by the loooong one headed for no-fault divorce.
