Are you a man? Do you have eyes? Well then Maine may not be a state you should go to

Article here.

Apparently if some hyperprotective parent thinks you're looking at their kids, it's about to become a felony in Maine. Excerpt:

'Under the bill, if someone is arrested for viewing children in a public place, it would be a Class D felony if the child is between 12 to 14 years old and a Class C felony if the child is under 12, according to Alexander.

Hill said she believes the move was necessary to correct what she called a "loophole" in the state's criminal law statutes.'

There are ENDLESS ways law enforcement could abuse this law if it gets passed to arrest ANY man in ANY public area at ANY time if there happened to be anyone who even looked like they may be 14 around... my girl friend is 23 (yeah I'm not that old, I just feel like I am some days) and from a distance she could pass for 14.

Scary law indeed. Law enforcements powers in Maine are about to increase exponentially if that law makes it onto the books.

Watch out for the thought police in Maine, if they even think your up to no good you'll be charged with a felony (a fucking FELONY! not a misdemeanor). Seriously, no one but MRAs think laws like this do more harm then good. Because really, there is absolutely no way on Earth such a law can have a single positive effect. It's not like the law is aimed at helping troubled people before they cross the line (which might actually help reduce sex crime), it's aimed at labeling them and demonizing them before they cross the line (which has the singular effect of increasing sex crime in a completely fictitious manner)

labeling children sex offenders and now this. Might as well just pass the 'born male? You are illegal' law now.

This legal notion of "visual aggression" effectively criminalizes public interactions of a completely non-physical nature. No contact whatsoever is required to be accused of a crime.

You can imagine any number of scenarios... like sitting on a public park bench within 100 feet of a public restroom and having your eyes notice a child or adolescent walk by. This is crazy!

It is a parallel path to tyranny just like the nationwide domestic violence laws, where "ignoring her needs" or "making her feel afraid" are enough to get a man jail time.

No actual physical act or intent of malice is required to be convicted of a crime in today's feminist kangaroo courts.

The only truly safe recourse is to have no interactions with women or children.

And what is really amusing about this Maine law is that all the data proves that most child abusers are WOMEN! (Usually mothers.)

i don't ever want to hear anybody downgrade the South anymore. this state full of lunes takes all the awards.

1. most idiots
2. most half men
3. least real women
4. stupidest cops
5. least educated legislatures
6. general all around dummy award

how can honest Americans stand by and allow thoughts to be criminalized w/o even raising an eyebrow?

answer: there are not many real Americans left. and certainly not in maine. state of the stupid.

and nothing from the so called "no spin" people? i guess it isn't spin if you don't bring it up, huh? and the entire legislature was OK w/ this? world gone MAD!

1984 come true. just a little off on the exact year. wonder what's next from femland?
concentration camps? badges just for men w/o wives? don't laugh. felony charges because some feminist idiot feels a certain way on a certain day, or maybe just doesn't like you.

i predict extreme violence over thought police arrests, if there are any real men left.
and as usual, no press coverage. what country is this? certainly not America, Home of the Free. not anymore. and now they want a woman president. imagine that, if you dare.

L. L. Bean is located in Freeport, Maine, and many of the photos in the catalogs include adults and children who are likely photographed in Maine. Now I usually leaf through the catalogs looking for nice clothes for myself, but sometimes I have noticed photos of fathers and their children, and thought that it was rather encouraging to see fathers portrayed in a positive way with their children.

But now I'm not sure if I can even do that anymore without breaking the law, even though I'm in Colorado. Maybe I should just get it over with and turn myself in to the authorities in Maine, even though I've never been there.

In fact, we could take this a step further, and all of us who have L. L. Bean catalogs who are male and have eyes should turn ourselves in.

So are women exempt from this?

How many times have men like us just rolled their eyes when a woman they're with or around, hear the standard squeel if they see a small child that meets with their approval, the standard, "Oh that's soooo cute!!".

... who hang out around restrooms: "loitering".

But no, someone has to make hay out of it "in the name of the children". Does anyone doubt the people most likely to face this law are men-- and for what reason, perhaps, standing around waiting for someone else to emerge from the women's room? Or maybe the man in querstion is just tired and standing around near the place closest to the water fountains? But no.

Jim Crow for men.

This is horrifying. Also, I'm not going to be moving to Maine.

The style of clothing that a lot of girls are wearing exactly mirrors the provocative style worn by adult women. Why do so many women wear this style? For the attention, obviously. Why do so many girls mimic this style? There are a few reasons, but I'm sure you can guess the most obvious one.

If a parent allows their young daughter to dress like an adult woman, they should realize that's going to draw attention--both from people who are attracted to that kind of thing, and those who are repelled by it.

I foresee a lot of parents with "mini-slut" daughters screaming for innocent blood when a man so much as glances in the girls' directions.

This is one of the most absurd laws ever passed. First of all: how does it get inforced? Will it go to trial? How do you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that another person is staring at a child, in a threatening way?

I was sitting on a bench at a park yesterday and shockingly there were tons of kids around. I guess in Maine I would have to sit with my eyes closed. I was also watching some kids play pick up basketball. Uh-oh better arrest me again.

Second of all, I like kids. I know this isn't the most manly man thing to say, but I think they're cute and funny. I taught religious education classes at my church to kids who were about 8,9 and 10. Guess I better be put on a government watch list.

And what about parents? Aren't they responsible for bringing the children to a public place where I was at first?

I really hope someone challenges this law in a supreme court because this has to be unconstitutional in some capacity.

(MJE) - "I foresee a lot of parents with "mini-slut" daughters screaming for innocent blood when a man so much as glances in the girls' directions."

No. (It won't happen.)

Because the parents who have allowed their daughters to become mini-sluts are already not paying attention to their child's welfare.

They are too busy with their own addictions.

It's precisely the moron parents who have never paid a seconds worth of attention to their kids who will be the one's screaming for blood. It's always those parents.

The one's who feel their precious could never do any wrong, plus the one's who are trying to hide their own guilt for not paying attention to their kids that will be the one's putting innocent men in jail over this type of law.

Them and police. This is a free reason for police to arrest any man at any time - cops love laws like this to.

Paragon,

You may be right on this matter.

Every slut I have met has parents who would defend her as if she is the Virgin Mary.

Thanks much for questioning my logic.

Men engage as comrades in this exercise of reasonable dialogue while women just congratulate themselves for being in agreement.

You are correct and I learned something.

The Evil Patriarchy once again.

I guess this means that being male and a teacher will soon be illegal in Maine. How can you teach without looking at children? Then again, there aren't many male teachers left nowadays. This law is a fine example as to why that is. There are so many labels people are waiting to stick onto a man, regardless of whether or not he's innocent. I bet Stephen King thinks this law is stupid. He's from Maine.

I think Steven King should right a horror book and movie about this. I t would make a great horror flick...a true one.

I've just recently gotten into writing horror screenplays myself. If King wouldn't work with that, I probably could.
