Story here. Excerpt:
"Two young girls accused of brutally attacking another girl on a playground are too emotionally immature to understand the criminal charges against them and the charges should be dismissed, their attorneys said.
The girls, ages 10 and 11, face aggravated assault and other charges for the attack on another 10-year-old girl at an elementary school playground the evening of April 3. The girls are accused of stomping on the victim and breaking her hip, police said."

I Wonder
How can the Duluth Model be factored in here? Oh wait, it's the idea that the girls were too immature to understand the consequences of their violent behaviour. Whereas, if it was boys, there would be no red tape whatsoever. I'm getting really sick of this gender bias when it comes to violence. The girls should be punished for what they did. They assaulted someone and the victim may never walk the same way again. I hope the girls are tried as delinquents. It's another area where boys wouldn't get any special treatment, and neither should girls. Welcome to our world, girls!
