Story here. Excerpt:
"A suspended high school English teacher is facing up to six months in jail after admitting she had sex with a 15-year-old student.
...
The relationship became known when she went to a school basketball game while intoxicated and announced the affair to nearby students and spectators. Gravlin blames her actions on depression, alcohol, prescription drugs and pressure from the victim."

Is this really a "news"?
This news is of March, 4, another news in this "update" is of March, 3. And this news is about an event about which we hear every day: sex with students. This forum soon will seem exclusively dedicated to this topic. I understand that maybe some feminist who digs out this garbage on news.google.com probably wants to flood this board so that truly interesting news were buried under tons of boring nonsense, but does it help to make this forum more attractive to MRA visitors?

Single men is the only social group benefited from feminism.
if we don't, who will
if MRA's hadn't started bringing this preferential treatment by the judges and media to the forefront these women wouldn't even be getting these lenient sentences. it ain't pretty. it's discrimination. and the avoidance of it by officers of the court is CRIMINAL.
just a couple weeks ago a guy around here had sex w/ a 15 y.o. girl and got 25 years. men typically get multiple years for having sex w/ minors. not months. but "there is no discrepancy in sentencing", said judge know it all on oreilly recently, among others.
but hey, they were in a "relationship", as usual. i say only a total idiot or someone guilty of this type discrimination would make such an odious statement.
yeah, we need to keep it "out there", as just another example of this societies bigotry. and if nothing else so future generations can appreciate their ancestors for what they really were, and not what they recorded for truth.
I respectfully disagree
If your bored with these article I have a suggestion, don't read them.
As for the "MRA" visitors..
I'll offer them my brief persepective on the story. I feel this a legitmate and important MRA issue.
First of all there is massive judicial double standard favoring female sexual predators.
More importantly there is ignorance among society in regards to whats considered acceptable sexual behaviour.
Men are demonized and are considered monsters while the women must have 'emotional' problems. That's why many of these women walk away with probation.
If a man has sex with a student...he "raped" her.
When its a woman, they simply had 'sex'.
Quoting the article: "pressure from the victim"
That phrase alone speaks volumes in regards to the phallacy that the boy somehow victimized her.

I'll ask the other MANN members if I'm wasting my time posting these types of articles.
If so, I might think twice about submitting them.
I don't want to bore anyone here with nonsense.

we need to be reminded...
That is why we need to post things like this. You hear all the time about men molesting kids. All the time we hear about it. You don't hear about it as much when it is women. And I am sure that more women are molesting kids than is talked about. And YES women get a lighter sentence than men. I worked in a jail and the women sex offenders had very light sentences.
Women want to be treated as equal? It's about time we start doing that.

Balance
Something needs to balance the constant barrage of "Man rapes 13 yera old girl" stories in traditional media outlets (especially the ones where the girl consented but the headline has to have the r-word in it).
