New report from RADAR
Each year the federal government spends $1 billion for domestic violence programs. But there is no evidence that these programs actually reduce abuse. Worse, one widely-used strategy – mandatory arrest for partner assault – has been shown to place victims at greater risk of violence.
To find out what’s gone wrong, RADAR combed through numerous reports from the GAO, OMB, and Office of the Inspector General to find out how well federal agencies administer domestic violence (DV) programs. We reached 3 conclusions:
- DV programs are largely unaccountable to the public.
- Federal agencies frequently mismanage DV grant monies.
- Recipients of federal money often engage in financial misconduct, embezzlement, and fraud.
These conclusions are explained in RADAR’s upcoming Special Report, “$1 Billion for DV Programs that Misuse Taxpayer Money and Place Victims at Risk.”
Today we will be meeting with staffers on Capitol Hill to discuss the report, and on Monday we will be issuing a national press release.
The report is available here (.pdf file).

Milk Maids
There might be an obvious fourth conclusion:
* VAWA and its tax-payer-funded Domestic Violence INDUSTRY is a business.
It is not about reducing DV, because to begin with, all evidence of intimate partner violence against men is ignored, as is lesbian violence.
Think about the DV Industry as being like a kind of federal subsidy for milk.
The idea is not to make dairy farms go out of business.
Nor is VAWA about eliminating domestic violence.
Commendations to RADAR for good research and some hoped-for media coverage.
Excellent point, Roy!
Roy, you make a very excellent point in mentioning that the DV industry is in actuality a business. It's not there to reduce domestic violence. It is there to make $$$.
At the risk of opening a can of worms here, those out there who advocate ever greater government intervention in the economy, greater government controls over business and more government regulation, need look no further than the perfect example of a government run business: the DV Industry.
Does anyone really believe that government will control John Doe's business fairly when it can't (or won't) run it's own taxpayer funded business fairly?

Yep, 'Tis a Business
It seems a lot of the other injustices against men are, as well. Such as allimony and child support. All it takes is money hungry crooked lawyers to keep these businesses up and running. It's very fitting we call these types manginas because the way they react to money is very much like a woman. Gain money, regardless of who you hurt, or what injustice you cause.

Real Men Don't Take Abuse!
it goes a lot deeper
than just lawyers and that whole crooked crew (judges, court workers, bailiffs, and on and on). everybody likes to get a check from uncle sugar. and lawyers pretty much set their own fees, to a point. and just look at the appeals process. no end of potential fees.
and don't forget the the lower levels, each feeding and multiplying. cops to make arrests, CS officials, marshals, sheriffs, deputies, prison guards, cooks, janitors, and on and on. all making $$$ on incarcerating almost entirely MEN. women pretty much walk. some few very bad ones (usually ugly) get some time. even then, they only do a fraction of the time MEN do. i keep hearing judges deny that there is any disparity in sentencing. TRUTH doesn't mean much to "officers of the courts" anymore, much like fairness, equality, justice and so forth. just words these days. more $$$ in lies, fraud against fathers and men, unequal justice and just plain abandonment of all PRECEPTS of law to keep the $$$ flowing.
and welfare - anybody seen many MEN getting those checks? no, guys in trouble (and a lot of Vets among them) just mostly live under the bridges and such. again mostly the women VICTIMS are getting the bulk of that sugar loaf.
and in the richest country ever on earth. some do need it. lotsa lazy fat arse bums too tho.
and don't get me started on how affirmative action is guaranteeing who is not being hired into these cush gov't jobs (white men = no points). and they will go anywhere to get excuses they use to keep this money pony running. "best interest of the child", "past discrimination", victimhood, heck, any excuse will do when the $$$ is flowing. that's the amerika i write about. America of our fathers looks to pretty much be "Gone with the Wind". the wind of handouts and victimhood.
the smarter/ wiser people are starting to wake up i think, maybe, i hope, and see what is starting to get too heavy for the few who actually produce something to carry. somebody hand me that sign. The End Is Near, The End is Near ... go on, laugh, if you dare.
