'The problem, Katz contended, is a culture that glorifies violence, which lures boys into thinking being violent will give them the power and control they crave. He pointed to the videos released by Virginia Tech gunman Seung-Hui Cho in April that showed him waving two guns around "like a bad Rambo caricature."
...
"The term 'male-basher' offends me," Katz responded. "Holding adult men accountable for their violence is an act of solidarity with young men and boys as well as women and girls ... Some men are in a place where they have the self-confidence and such that they can honestly look at this and not be defensive, and others aren't."'

I Think The Problem Is
that from a young age boys are subjected to ridicule and bullying, the likes of which girls would never have to worry about. When this behavious continues over and over again, and nothing is done to help the boys due to the misandry in our society, they only have one solution left; violence. They get their revenge, imitating the negative male role models they've been given. That being said, I agree with Katz to some degree, but I think the problem is deeply rooted not only in the stereotypes in the media that men are violent cretures, but also the apathy towards the male victims of bullying, which is often shrugged off as "boys will be boys".
