Essay: "Male bashing for fun and for profit"
Essay here. Excerpt:
"While feminist advocates have been quick to lambaste vocabulary perceived as being male-normative-the use of "man" instead of "person" to describe an occupation, SSMU's tactful decision to bolster "non-males" in order to enforce gender parity or references to Senator Clinton's first name instead of last-less imaginative anti-male implications are frequent and unchallenged. Portrayals of men as brutish, callow and altogether uncultured are rampant throughout film and television productions, usually along with the implication that theatre, literature, poetry and other fine arts are somehow un-manly.

The feminist movement has rightly achieved much to correct Victorian prudishness toward female sexuality as part of the larger campaign for women's rights. That trend is now being reversed for men. While media publications seek to belittle and homogenize male sexual intentions, more radical movements seek to directly assault the male sex drive by likening it to violent assault. Both buck efforts for real sexual equality. Men's rights may not be the popular social movement, but its issues are real and present."

I'm Glad Some Journalists Have Some Common Sense
It's great to see a writer that openly speaks out against male-bashing, especially the sexual brand of it. I'm sick and tired of being demonized, as a man, for having sexual organs and desires which are completely natural. I'm tired of being stereotyped as a horny beast looking to hump anything. It really bothers me how I'm viewed as this beast that's driven by sexual desire, even though I've never actually had sex in my life. As a lot of you can see, I'm actually a deep, interesting, complex individual. Much more than just a penis and balls. Hopefully articles like this will make more people wake up and smell the coffee.
