Story here. Excerpt:
'A report out of the state of Oregon reinforces the results of a CBS News investigation from last November that found high rates of suicides among those who served in the military.
The state health report, “Violent Deaths in Oregon: 2005” found 18 to 24-year-old male veterans had the highest rate of suicide among all males in the state from 2000 to 2005 – almost 5 times higher than non-veteran males the same age. (The bar chart above shows the figures.)'

Just like war - the primary victims are women
Number one priority: How are these guy's families supposed to survive?

The real tragedy
is that more isn't being done about the suicide rates of young males in the general population. These young men come to the end of their tolerance and end it. Period. And they do it 4-5X MORE than young women.
Suicide for vets is serious and bad.
Suicide for non-vets is equally bad and underpins the problem in the vets.
Yet - we don't see our media pointing this out.

Of course.
This is what happens when women are not placed in check and men don't put their foot down. Welcome to the gynocracy of the United States.

It's Sad
It seems we live in a world where the life of a woman is valued more than the life of a man. That being said, this is proof. The media doesn't give a damn about this suicide epidemic among men. Instead they aid those who are most responsible for the increase in depression among males.
And as ax pointed out, woman are victims of this too. When a husband and father offs himself, who will take care of the family? I wish people would realize that men's problems usually affect more than just men.
