India: Save Indian Family Protest Successful

The Save Indian Family Foundation held a protest demanding a men's welfare ministry for implementing its 21-point agenda.

Over 150 people attended the protest this was covered by The Statesman, Enadu, and The Times of India newspapers. In addition, TV 9, Kasturi, and ETV covered the event.

Photographs are posted here.

Also look at this photo in more detail to understand the battered men. The developed countries are brainwashed as men bad, women good. Just look at this photo.

Special thanks for two associates of RADAR who also attended this protest.

People in India realize that a man is just as likely to be a victim of violence as a woman. Kudos to them. I was wrong in congratulating them on setting their people back 5000 years. It seems that's not what they want.

I'm not sure exactly what to make out of that one photo, with the pictures of the four family members on a white sheet or poster. But the way I'm reading it, it must be a practice for Indian women to abuse their husbands, by hiring other men to beat them.

If so, that's kind of a different animal than the DV issues we usually talk about in the U.S. Here, that type behaviour might not be counted under "domestic violence" by the authorities, but probably as outright criminal behavior of some sort (naturally the men who beat up the husband, would be punished more than the woman who hired them).

Maybe in India they figure it's "men doing it to other men", so since men are disposable they don't see it as a gender issue per se, so they don't see the need for a men's commission or whatever. It really is a different culture.

Perhaps bharati can give us some more details?

Bharati, this is great news, and keep up the good work. But don't claim that the protest was a success just yet. It will only be a success when your demands have been fully met and the evil that you are seeking to expose has been acknowledged in all quarters and stopped dead in its tracks. Has that happened yet? Remember that governments everywhere are notorious for never admitting they are wrong, never giving way on a matter of ideology, and never going against the demands of women, however appalling the consequences. You still have a huge fight on your hands. But it is our fight too, and you have our support. Keep at it.

I like to look at in a more positive fashion otherwise there will be motivation problem . As long as we have strength in our arms we shall not despair . I am working my way towards joining UN in next 2-3 years. Even if I survive for one month in this feminist controlled arena . I would have done enormous good.

protest is successfull ,mission is not.The government canot ignore as our next protest is in chennai march 23rd , hydarabad , jaipur and other cities are just raring to go we are just trying to pace it as a big bang can only create temporary effects

The perticular photo was done due to domestic relations .
what happened evidenced in photo is real violence domestic or otherwise.

Voilence is strong word it cannot be used in civil context
On the other hand shouting match , denial of sex , economic fights , mental games are all matrimonial offenses not domestic violence . you cannot use the word domestic violence there

The first principles of justice clearly is that civil should be adjucated without force. however the Indian DV law first of all classifies violence as those things which cannot be violence and uses the criminal machinery.

WE are setting back 200 years if we start ignoring the differentiation between matrimonial offense ( requiring reasonable proof ) , civil offense ( requiring preponserence of offense ) and criminal offense ( requiring "evidence beyond reasonable doubt" in other countries and "clear and comprehensible evdence" in USA)

Our aim of the protests and reaching out to the people on the ground is to change the social envionment and educate on the basic principles of justice and law making.

The DV laws in India and I belive to an extent in all parts of the world are built with cynical ignorance of the 1st principles of natural justice.

The particular case yes the father in law is being tried and will be punished. We shall ensure it no two ways about it . We bought it to attention becuase everyone things that issues faced by men in domestic relation are trivial harmless , men can take it extra and they should just chin up, square it,

good news - at least the people are listening. some of them anyway. it shows, by fighting against true equality in liaisons/adultry outside marriage, that the women are (like amerikan feminists) not interested in being fair. already they show signs of demanding special status. that won't do. they expect to get free handouts/privileges just because they are female. a sure recipe for disaster.

odd how a world away we can lend our support to help end oppression, and vent, and feel good about it all at the same time.

hot cocoa anyone? man it's cold outside.

The temp's not too bad from where I sit, but it's been a three-day deluge so far, with no end in sight. I drove throught a puddle so fast today, I think the engine cut off momentarily. That's usually a bad indication..
