Beta News Site Traffic

All,
I have noticed the Beta News Site for MANN is getting very little attention. Please take the time to register on it and try it out. It really is a good alternative to the current submit-edit-post/not post paradigm that we currently are using.
Think of the highly populist, democratic form such a paradigm represents. Put me out of a job, please! ;)

I Do Not Endorse Your Slackness!
I have not viewed the site.
Your earnest quest to go on the dole is not something I can support.
And, your notion of automated "democracy" has been tried, and it failed.
Hence, two Bushes.
Matt, nobody ever said you should not work for a living.
Your site is exemplary man!
You built it. You now have to maintain the consequences of your original passion.
How much praise do you require to keep up the good work?
Gee, thanks...
... but truth is, this is Scott's gig. I just happen to be the most visible of the admins. But I appreciate the vote of confidence.

Matt, I appreciate all the effort you and Scott put in to Mensactivism.org. I know it's a labor of love. I haven't gotten into the habit of regularly visiting the beta site. I'll check it out and see how I like it. Thanks.
I signed up today. It looks
I signed up today. It looks good!
I registered yesterday
I had earlier looked at it and made a post about it.

Hi Matt - I just registered
Hi Matt - I just registered and created a post. I like it. Is there a limit on the number of characters you can use in a post? It seemed very low. It also didn't seem to allow you to preview all of the post during the preview portion. You could see the post and the "more" button but if you clicked the more button it asked you if you really wanted to navigate away from the site....which I took to mean that if you did so you would likely lose your created post. Yes?
I do like the feel of the site and think it would be a good thing to get all users the ability to post .
Too Little, Too Late
I gave up submitting articles quite some time ago. Got thoroughly tired of 99% of my submissions being thrown in the garbage, especially after all the effort I put forth creating and submitting them. Evidently my idea of what the MRA's on this site might be interested in seeing is completely different from management's, or they're purposely discarding just about everything I submit regardless. Considering the posts I've seen approved on this site, I can find no consistency in what gets approved and what doesn't. A long time ago, most of my submissions were approved and posted. Now it's way way off in the opposite direction.
I've been on this site a really long time and most of the guys who used to post here no longer do. I bet I know one big reason for that. A lot of you praise this site but you never see the stuff that gets discarded, even on slow days when none or only one new article is approved.
The only post I got approved over the past several months was one that was a follow-up to a subject previously covered on the site. All others disappeared without even a reply as to why. The old software, at least, told you your article was rejected. This new software doesn't even do that.
Now I come here to read articles I haven't seen other places and that's about it. It appears there are a lot of others who've had the same feelings because the number of comments to postings these days is a very small fraction of what it used to be.
Good luck with your new format, but I won't be participating... unless I see something that is so out-of-the-ordinary and can't pass on it no matter how hard I try.
And by the way, yes, I'm angry.
So...
when is it gonna go live? I tried out the Beta site and it looks good.
the current site is fine though
While the beta seems ok, I really think the current site works fine and I do like the old layout and theme better. If the workload is too high, I'm sure more editors could be added?
I also think it's an illusion that web 2.0 technology can replace editing. There's a lot of hype around this.
Having a problem registering
The site keeps telling me that my E-mail address is not correct.
Any help for that?

Prefer current site...
I say leave the MensActivism News section as it is. The colour scheme/fonts/layout is nicer IMO and there's nothing really wrong with it. It's easier on the eyes and has a more distinctive style to it. It loads quickly also.
If there are issues with article selection/publication, they are problems in themselves which a new site is not going to fix, right?
Perhaps you could alter the current site a little rather than go to a new platform. Some integration with the growing MRA blogosphere would be a good idea (e.g. Eternal Bachelor, FredX, CounterFem).
Other probably disagree, but I'd prefer to see the site stay the way it is..
