Watch the story here. She was a gang member suspected in as many as 50 shootings, a leader in one of the most violent and predatory gangs in her city. And a lady, too! Good heavens! Send this to anyone who thinks a woman isn't capable of ruthless, calculated violence, or exercising leadership in the context thereof.

Women run are pretty much 50% responsable for it
There is no male leader of an international criminal organization that doesn't have a wife or girlfriend that carries out many of the organizations dealings. Media/police/(Un)Intelligence services only splash men's faces on international watch lists 999/1000. Wives and girlfriends pass through customs, walk down streets, and carry out the organizations daily business completely undetected. Crime lords don't get their hands dirty because they are watched to closely. But their wives are not stopped and often approached to reveal what they do in order to get their husbands arrested.
The only thing new about this is that it's getting attention.
In Canada when things like this happen it gets hushed up almost instantly. Two single women were busted running the largest child prostitute ring in Canadian history a couple years ago in Saskatchewan. They made front page for only one day, no names (to protect the victims as some were relatives of one of the women), and it was never heard from again. I have no idea if it's come to trial. But there were about 30 children involved, all pre-teen and as young as infants. No man to blame meant no lasting media attention and no recollection in casual conversation. I ask people all the time if they remember it and I have yet to hear one yes. Largest child prostitute ring ever busted in Canada and no one even remembers it happened.
But everyone remembers the Hell's Angels round up in Ontario from last year even though almost no charges were laid because most of the people arrested couldn't be linked to a single illegal activity. Hundreds of arrests, less then a dozen charges.
Media makes the difference.
