Story here. Excerpt:
"A woman was sentenced Thursday to life in prison with parole for killing her 3-year-old developmentally disabled foster son by binding him in blankets and tape and leaving him inside a closet for a weekend."
"A day earlier, jurors convicted Liz Carroll, 30, of murder and other charges. Under the life sentence for murder, she has no possibility for parole for 15 years. Some of the other sentences must be served consecutively."

What a shocker!
A woman who refuses to accept guilt or responsibility! That's rare!

That poor boy. I am so glad that she will spend about 54 years in prison. Though life without parole would be more appropriate given the fact that there is no possible way that poor boy did not suffer tremendously in the way they chose to end his life. We as a society tend to look at death by fire arm as the most egregious way of taking a life, but binding a person and allowing them to die slowly of dehydration, starvation, asphyxiation, lack of proper medical care, all of the above or whatever factor ultimately caused this child's death would cause the body much more pain and suffering as life slowly slips away then most death by gunshot.
I personally can't imagine a more aggravating factor then the method used to kill this child because the fear and pain and suffering involved must have been so awful.
There is no excuse for that. There is no apology. There is nothing that can take away from the horrible way they killed that poor boy.
I am sure the husband will get life without parole or death if Ohio has the death penalty, I can't remember right now.
