Update on "McMissile Mom": She gets probation

Looks like she won't be doing any time. As reported previously, the woman who McMissiled another driver is now getting probation.

Story here. The article authors bring up the speculation regarding ethnicity and class, but I rather think there is a more compelling "reason": she's a mother. When the perp is a father, it seems to have little effect in these cases, does it? Excerpt:

'She said that she stands by her decision to report the incident, believing that Hall's actions were potentially dangerous and certainly illegal, but that the punishment should fit the crime. She called the jury's sentence "excessive."

"Finally, while one can argue that incarceration may help to discourage others from this type of behavior, this would come at a very high price for Ms. Hall -- a price that in my opinion is too high," Fowle wrote. "Surely the publicity that this matter has already gotten should discourage any thoughtful person from following Ms. Hall's example."'

What a good mommy she is. Teaching her kids so well.

She clearly has anger issues. But that's ok.

She writes bad checks - and lies about identity theft to cover her tracks.

Wonder what the $600+ check was for? I bet it wasn't for diapers or anything for that matter anything to do with her kids. Plus since it was out of State it wasn't for any utility bills to keep the lights on and the water running at her home.

Plus, just like women who lie about rape to cover their up their guilty actions, I am gonna have to say that the police report about the stolen purse was an attempt to get away with stealing whatever she wrote the bad check for. To bad they got her on camera writing it.

With this woman's history - two years sounds about right to me. I mean, she's probably going to end up being a multiple convicted felon when the charges for the bad check incident get to court.

This case got so much attention - CTV in Canada did a special report where they interviewed her in prison. Did they paint her as the victim? You bet they did! Why a Canadian news agency bothered traveling all the way down to interview her is beyond me. This case was not that big a deal. Black fathers get years for stuff like this all the time.
