Wife charged with beating husband

Story here. Excerpt:

"Deputies kicked down a door early yesterday to rescue a man who they said was being pummeled by his wife in his Spotsylvania County home.

Capt. Will Petry said dispatchers received a 911 call from a cell phone about 2:45 a.m. The call came from the Grantwood subdivision, but authorities couldn't immediately pinpoint the location.

A second call came a short time later, and this time dispatchers heard a man in the background screaming for help."

It's great that this man was able to get the assistance he needed before he was killed. Sounds like she wasn't about to be stopped by anything less then the police knocking down the door and dragging her out.

I was very pleased with how that article was written. It clearly portrayed him as the victim and her as the violent one and did not attempt to blame him for her actions. This author was very balanced considering the subject matter. Not one excuse was offered for her violent actions and that definitely warrants some positive feedback to the author and the source

There are still far to many men who are not being taken seriously when they are victims of a female partner, friend or relatives uncontrollable violence. The only positive thing about this case is that it received public attention and could lead to some people rethinking their ideas about domestic violence.

This article, if accurate, is in my opinion a good sign that at least the media is taking DV by females seriously and not reporting it as some oddity to be snickered about. There was nothing said about the man victim being charged with anything which is very good. Also, it was nice to read that the female abuser was jailed without bond and charged with domestic violence.

I to was very glad to read that she is being held without bond because I have a grand total of zero faith that the courts will deliver punishment and accountability to this woman through either a plea deal or a trial. I am very pleased that she is getting to serve some dead time in prison before the trial or deal sets her free.

With a little luck by then she'll get some form of anger management instead of just getting set loose to go find and kill the man she's already beat the shit out of who called 911 on her.

I hope this woman seeks help for her violent rage and this man seeks help to get over this woman and her attack(s?).

Spotsylvania, wasn't that where Boris and Natasha come from? Is that anywhere near Frostbite Falls, where Rocky and Bullwinkle come from???

Okay, I apologize for my complete digression into cartoon trivia over this serious topic. No doubt the man in this story is not laughing.
