Principal Arrested for Blocking Student Alcohol Probe

People used to get nervous when they saw male cheerleading squad coaches around all those girls. Maybe they should get nervous seeing female coaches (and principals) around them instead! Story here. Excerpt:

"Blackwell, 59, was arrested Monday and charged with obstruction of justice. She was released from jail Monday evening on her own recognizance, Frederick said.

Deputies believe Blackwell knew the coach was giving alcohol to students but did not report the information to authorities, Frederick said."

Points up a fact: anyone regardless of gender can do "the wrong thing". The classic feminist argument that with women in positions of greater trust in society, particularly vis-a-vis education and legal matters, there would be less misuse or abuse of power. It should be abundantly clear by now that such is not the case, yet this idea persists in popular consciousness.
