Family of Finnerty (Duke LAX Player) has 'a lot to celebrate'

Story here. Excerpt:
"Finnerty said Collin, 20, had completed final exams this week at Hofstra, where he enrolled after leaving Duke."
"It's tough on him ... It's taken a year out of his life and keeps him out of school and off the lacrosse field, so it's very unfair. But he's hanging in there, working hard."

Some opinions on Finnerty
Finnerty is attaining a degree from Hofstra University. Hofstra is a good school, but not quite what Duke is. Its not unreasonable to assume his employment options have decreased with an inferior degree. ( Inferior is a bit harsh considering my sister has a degree from Hofstra)
Anyway:
Duke Lacrosse is generally considered one of best in the nation. Any Duke lacrosse player has a legitimate shot for the MLL (Major League lacrosse)
Hofstra has a lacrosee team (a very good one) but I doubt Finnerty is on the team. I must be fair, Hofstra's team is also one of the best in the nation. As a student at S.U., I've seen a Duke vs Syracuse game. The competition was incredible. Infact, I saw the game a couple of years ago, its very possible these three Duke men were playing during that game. I'm not sure why S.U. was playing Duke considering their conference is regulated to the North East.
Finnerty lives about 30 miles where I grew up (Northport). This case has had a massive impact on the Long Island Community. There is even a deli in Great Neck that has a discounted sandwich in support for the Duke players. (roast beef, melted cheese on garlic bread!)....maybe not a big deal, but this case has aggravated many on Long Island.
A qoute from an S.U. publication printed last spring:
"Syracuse University will not allow any Duke lacrosse players to transfer to its school, even though some Blue Devils are reportedly seeking their release amid the rape investigation."
MLL team New Jersey Pride has players on their starting roster from Duke, Hofstra and Syracuse. Its a shame Finnerty is not playing for those college's.
