England: Woman jailed over rape lies

Story here.

"Liverpool fan Patricia Miller, 26, had consensual sex with the 19-year-old student Charles Brown hours after the Champions League final on 25 May 2005."

"But she told police she had been raped by Mr Brown at her flat in Acomb, York."

"Jailing her for nine months at York Crown Court, Judge Stephen Ashurst said Miller had told "a pack of lies".

The article tells us that she is a liar but fails to expose the areas that were the lies.

I am glad that the jury saw through the 'I'm a lesbian' defense.

I just wish the article would say more then we believed his side more.

At least her lies were discovered early and the poor guy doesn't sound like he had to endure a trial. Seeing his picture in the paper (and I am sure all his friends, family, loved ones and co-workers did to), plus two days of police interrogation is surely going to affect him for the rest of his life. He is now painfully aware of how easy it is for one night of drunken debauchery to end with a manhunt for him and his face on a wanted poster.

I wish there was real laws to punish those who attempt to destroy others lives through false accusations. She should face the equivalent of what his sentence could have been based on what he was charged with. She should get the time she tried to make him do.
