We all know damn well what happens when a man is accused of rape. I don't care how insulated a person is.

For this girl to do what she did is evil in the highest degree. The effects on her victim couldn't be worse if he had been deliberately tortured. What happened to him amounts to torture, anyway - he was in fear for his life, based on the word - THE WORD - of a woman. No evidence or investigation necessary.

She should get the maximum term he could have received if convicted. She is an obvious sociopath - I don't see how such evil can be trained or rehabilitated out of a person. In order for that to happen, she would have to show remorse, and there is none at all evident here. Her tears were for herself, and herself alone. I hope they tie her tubes as part of her penalty. No child should be subjected to such a thing for a mother.

And what's this crap about her family had to help her out of the courtroom??? Why was she allowed to leave? And why was her family there? I love my daughter, but if she did something this reprehensible and thoroughly disgusting, she would no longer be my daughter.

My god! What is this world coming to? That poor young man. He can choose not to let this stop him from living his life, but there is no possible way he will EVER be the same. My heart goes out to him.

What really makes me sick is the last comment by this man's mother, "What happens to her doesn't matter, it's entirely up to the courts."

I seem to see this all the time and it's a crying shame. The only way women like this will get what they deserve is when the victims and families insist on it.

Promiscuous women should send up a red flag rather the raise a man’s interests. It’s been my observation that women who have multiple partners, and aren’t discriminating about who they sleep with, also suffer from one or more personality disorders (not to mention STDs). When a woman is easy, men often drop their guard as their ego inflates and their blood leaves their large head and rushes to their small one. In this day and age, one must be more discriminating about who they bed. If the woman has a psychotic episode after the fact, all she need do is cry rape and the man is in for the ride of his life and may even find himself falsely convicted of a crime he did not commit! Unfortunately, monogamous women are becoming rarer by the day. A sexually liberated woman is just another way of saying that she’s been poked more times that a bonfire at a Boy Scout Jamboree! Hoping to marry a virgin? Those days are all but gone!

She and her parents should be sued for damages since she was 16 at the time of her crime.

The girl claimed not to know this man and to have never been to his place. If fibers from her coat hadn't been found on his carpet, he almost certainly would have been convicted as he did have (consensual) sex with her.

In the majority of U.S. states, a woman has up to 30 days after engaging in sexual intercourse to decide whether her act was consensual.... or rape.

Rape is NOT a crime of sex .... rather, it is a crime of CONSENT or its lack.

And the only consent that matters is the woman's.

And most judges will not allow a woman's sexual history into court evidence.

Oh, and if you're married. You're not off the hook.

Most states also have "marital rape" laws with the exact same criteria.

Kinda takes the romance out of the moment when you have to ask your girlfriend/wife to sign a pre-f*$k consent form, yes?

Emphasis on the $$$$ character above....

He was not charged on the word alone, he did have sex with her and they did collect his DNA. They had plenty of evidence and did do an investigation.

The only thing that saved him was this police force is one (maybe the only one that exists) of the few police forces that actually did an investigation that included looking for ALL evidence and not just evidence of guilt. Plus, he has to be greatfull that she actually submitted the sweater for testing or he'd be cooked.

The sad thing this case does show is that DNA is not the wonderfull savior of the innocent that it is heralded to be. It can be used as iron clad evidence to wrongly convict some one in cases of "she regretted it later" sex.

And as far as her being allowed to leave goes, it was a jury trail and sentancing was scheduled for November 13. Jury's do not sentance people they only find guilt or innocence. In the case of guilt being found sentancing is set for another date pending addmissions from both sides arguing aggravating and mitigating circumstances. Regardless of gender, all but people who have been convicted of the most violent or serious crimes are given bail until sentancing.

I get your anger, I really do as I have been falsely accused. But you come off as though you are blinded with anger and did not even read the article.
