Update on John Murtari's Protest

"Commitment" is a word that doesn't begin to cover this fellow's dedication. He has been put on a feeding tube but continues his vigil. Story here.

John, we're in your corner!

John is a true hero.

What I particularly like about his protest is the amount of extra money it is costing the persecutors to keep him. Trips to the emergency room and the constant monitoring of the feeding tube by medical personnel has to be costing a lot!

Please do write to him because the more publicity and the letters he gets from supporters really go a long way in impressing the authorities. He probably wouldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for the support he got from the start.

I received this letter on Onondaga County Justice Center Inmate Letterhead from political prisoner John Murtari. Thought some may like to read it.

Thanks for taking the time to write. Your letter came when I was feeling drained and it was certainly a "picker upper." You asked me to lose a few pounds for you . How about this, 7/31 - 155 lbs. today 8/9 - 125 pounds! It is amazing, a lot of it is dehydration.
Thanks for all the words of support. You are very right about the need for change. Thanks for getting others involved and I appreciate your thoughts!
Best regards,
JOHN MURTARI
Oh, my son Dom is 13. I am so thankful we could have our summer vacation together. He understands what "Daddy does."

(end of letter)

If you have a spare moment please send John Murtari a letter of support. Letters mean so much during a non-violent protest like his. Letters show the powers that be that he is not just another non-person "deadbeat dad" in jail but a true martyr against the injustice of a out of control judicial system.

His address is:

John Murtari, Pod 5A-10
Inmate Correspondence
555 South State Street
