UCLA's Daily Bruin Publishes Op-Ed by NCFM-LA Member

Kudos to Marc Angelucci for this well-written piece. It was so good, it even got published! At UCLA, no less!

Excerpt:

When problems carry on into adulthood, men today make 85 percent of homeless adults, 92 percent of occupational deaths, 90 percent of prisoners, 80 percent of deaths by suicide, and have higher death rates than women for each of the 10 leading causes of death.

Meanwhile, fatherlessness remains the leading predictor of crime in a community.

The illusion of male privilege at the top of society masks male disposability at the bottom and the rest of society.

Feminism has become a billion-dollar industry, while men's issues remain severely neglected due to a combination of political correctness, chivalry, misandry and the myth of male power.

Marc does a great job of summarizing many of the problems that males face in contemporary Western society. It would be nice to see his article published by the major news carriers; however, I'm not holding my breath. After all, the media doesn’t want to confuse society with politically incorrect facts! Nevertheless, at least his article is getting some exposure.

Marc,

The piece was very good. Thanks.

But...

Why be so nice to a bigot like Katie Strickland? Why not call her exactly what she is? Namely a bigot.

Thanks for your feedback. I resisted the temptation to ad hom or say certain other things about feminism that I want to say (I wanted to call it a "hate industry," for instance) because in this context I felt it could have a better chance of printing and also a wider impact without that.

Incidentally, I had written this as a quick and condensed letter to the editor, not an op ed, but they printed it as an op ed and they also removed my reference to The Myth of Male Power and a link to the commission on the status of men.

The Authtor of "Smart women must be stopped!" displayed her obvious bias in the very first paragraph of her peice. Her belief that women are just better then men.

the responce outlined the many ways that it is easier to be better when every advantage is given to women.

Her complete and total lack of understanding of men and issues pertaining to men is further proof that she has never for a second in her life been taught to believe anything other then feminist theory.

She simply does not consider the areas that men naturally outperform women to be of any value to her or society at all.

Sports in her mind equate to nothing more then "throwing a ball around"

Physical activity not for the purposes of maintaining one's own figure (in order to weild female sexual privalage around better) serves no purpose what so ever.

Though I have no doubt that one day she will want a diamond engagement ring from her lover no matter which gender she decides to hook up with. To get a single carrot diamond requires moving a thousand tons of earth, which I am fairly certain requires a good deal of physical strength, teamwork and coordination. All atributes which are learned playing team sports.

Not to mention that of all feilds that require great strength and/or great personal risk to one's health and well being are pretty much exclusively done by men.

I wonder how she would explain the continuing lack of female achievement in math and science then?

Perhaps she thinks that those are also feilds that are not needed and all those women's health programs will be run by the fairy god mother of women's health if men one day decide to stop sacraficing themselves for women.

Thanks so much for at least giving this poor girl a clue as to all of the many things that men have given to this world and the countless sacrafices of all men to give her the privillaged life she has.

There is no hope that Katie will ever be able to think outside of her me, me, me box! Bimbos, such as her, have absolutely no clue or gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions that men have made, and continue to make, that facilitate and protect their imaginary elevated status as they spew their bubble-headed bullshit!

The feminist definition of 'equality' is itself unequal. Strickland is praising the fact that women are "leaving men in the dust". If that is true, isn't there something UNEQUAL going on? After all, THAT was stated to be the case when the situation was the reverse!

I am surprised that men make up only 85% of the homeless, as stated in Marc's article. Please do not take this as arguing with the given statistic, but I am just wondering if 'homeless women' includes those who are residents of DV shelters, and maybe the 'family shelters' that some places have (for the proverbial 'homeless single mother' and her kids)?? In my book, HOMELESS means no roof over your head, except maybe when it is below freezing, at night, which is when they typically let men go into the shelters. That is based on my experience of 2 years distributing food weekly, to the homeless in Washington, D.C.

Good question, is there also a difference between being a homeless woman and living in a domestic violence shelter, and being a battered man and sleeping on the sidewalks?

hello

good insight.

the majority of homeless individuals are men.
i suspect if the genders were reversed, feminists would be "burning bra's" in washington to protect woman from living on the streets.

suicide inflicts men at a much higher rate than women. suicide has some national attention, but i suspect if the gender disparity was reversed, oprah would have a weeks worth of info on how "women suffer" from mental illness.

gentleman, our lives are held with less regard than a females. oh well, i can pee standing up!

p.s. axolotl:

feminism is no longer about equality, its now a form of superiority. nothing more than an accepted hate group. i'm sure you know this, but i needed to add the comment to the post.

hello

not really much to post, but this writer seems empowered by the "perceived" notion that women are smarter than men. (women who relish the fact that girls are more prevalant in college are females that are intiminated by men) im in college and don't really know of any g.p.a. inequites that affect men and women. many of my classes are often based on student debate regarding reading material and the proffesors insight. females rarely debate anything, but the men will challenge any type of authority or anything that might seem unfair. (women thrive in structured environments. ie: conformists)

my theory....structure is good for women, men challenge structure, which is at times, is necesaary for change.

i have a difficult decision when i finish college. do i accept a boring job in a mid-level position with a corporation? or should i follow my father's advice and join the nyc carpentry union?...swing a hammer, without the bullshit of a feminist dominated workforce? i might get a job as a carpenter and help build the "feedom towers" that will replace the world trade center. i suspect 99.999999% of these individuals will be men, yet we will get no credit.

how do women get away with blatant "male bigotry" articles?....who the hell are the publishers or editors. i suspect many are castrated man slaves.

p.s.

hillary clinton (god help us all) recently made a speech regarding the need for more female construction workers. #1...most women don't want to build a wall or ceiling.

#2. women aren't as good as being a steamfiter, iron worker, or brick mason.

if the construction industry was 50/50 male/female, many buildings would simply crumble based on a females inability to build or construct a structure.

is feminsit infiltration of every male dominated job good for society? if your home was on fire, and two female firemen (notice i didn't say firefighter) entered your home, would you feel as safe as two male firemen???

maybe getting of the subject?
