WashPost.com: Mother Charged in 1972 Murder of Son

Do my eyes deceive me? The Washington Post's web site home page as of this writing has a large link to this story. I decided to post this under "Media" because while of course the story content is very significant, we all know women murdering their own kids is not new. However the Post putting link to such a story on its home page sure is.

"It is quite an unusual case," Baltimore County police spokesman Bill Toohey said yesterday. "It's old, the mother is accused of killing her child, and the tip came from another child."

Actually Mr. Toohey, it's not unusual at all. It's just unusal that it gets reported on.
