Liberal author tells 'The View' there's 'no such thing' as toxic masculinity

Article here. Excerpt:

'A liberal guest on Friday's "The View" pushed back on the idea that "toxic masculinity" is a problem for society.

Co-host Sara Haines asked NYU business professor and author Scott Galloway about his new book, "Notes on Being a Man," in which he urges men to embrace healthy masculinity.

She referenced the current cultural spotlight on masculinity, as seen in the popular Netflix show "Adolescence," and in how Democratic governors like Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer and Maryland's Wes Moore have recently launched programs to help young men in their respective states.

Galloway brought up how men are far more likely than women to commit suicide, face addictions and be incarcerated. He argued that young men need a positive view of masculinity to guide their lives.'

I'm not down with his aspirational ideas of men as protectors, as ppl who always give more than they get, etc. That sounds like a woman's list of things she wants from a man.

I'm far more inclined to think a man should define HIMSELF what being a man is. He can of course look to men he might respect for guidance (not women, but men), but in the end he should be the one who defines what being a man is for him. Some ppl seem to think manhood should be defined by others (who? Women? Older men?) then imposed on men as a standard they need to meet. What bullocks. Women typically don't face such pressures or expectations unless foisted on them by themselves (if they do they complain bitterly about how the standards are unfair, etc.)

This author's a classic white knight liberal as pertains men and women. Only good thing he brought to The View was the idea that this toxic masculinity twaddle is just that.
