Women's soccer took one small step toward equity this World Cup. But giant leaps remain
Article here. Short version: "Equality" comes in the form of the more popular and profitable men's team having to subsidize the women's team, which is much less popular and profitable. Their goal is in a few years to lay claim to half of what men earn while only being maybe 1/10th as profitable. This is feminists' idea of "equality". This is akin to the common terms of divrorce. 'What's a world-class soccer player worth?
If you're a woman, about one-quarter of a man, according to world soccer governing body FIFA. And that's still more equal than the sport has ever been.
As this year's Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand wraps up Sunday, observers say the small steps toward equity this time will need to pick up momentum if FIFA is to reach its stated goal of equal pay by 2026-27.
Laura Jane Robinson, a Canadian sports journalist and author, calls the pay discrepancy "appalling."
"I think that generally people do believe on this planet that women should be treated equitably, and I hope that these numbers are going to change very quickly," she told CBC News.'

The impact?
My prediction: A new int'l men's soccer league will form. As the best male athletes are relatively underpaid as they have their pay taken from them and given to the women's team, they'll look for and find alternative employment. I predict it'll come in the form of a Saudi Arabia-based soccer organization that will pay the players even more of what they were getting paid, leaving FIFA with the medium and least talented men players and of course the women's team. Soon FIFA will become a laughingstock and the new league will become the new standard.
Give it a few years.
Here's the thing about the free market: It's ruthless about getting to the truth of things. You can't hide from it. In socialist/communist countries, it still exists. It's known here in the West as a "black market", which is any market that has been outlawed. The more a free market is suppressed, the more a black market will thrive. Just ask the Russians about the market for jeans back in the old USSR days. Black markets drive up prices. A pair of jeans in the USSR cost as much as $50 USD back then. And $50 USD in the USSR at the time was a LOT of money. But still, the transactions took place, mostly done by party members buying them for their spoiled brat kids. Suppressing free markets only does one thing: create a black market with inflated prices. You'll see the same thing in terms of soccer, marketh my words.
