British men told to 'stay indoors' when a killer is on run

It's almost as though people don't know that men are the majority victims of violence, or that men are the majority of people who chase down and catch murderers.

In the Daily Mail today:
"Police 'should tell men to stay indoors' when a killer is on run in local area: Victims commissioner says 'very little has changed' since women were told to keep off streets when the Yorkshire Ripper prowled North in 70s and 80s"

It's like the 'man curfew' idea that was around a few months ago: if men do this, women and children will suffer greatly. And what is proposed when the suspected killer is female? And what about when the killer was a policeman, as in a recent case: should all police stay off the streets too? This is so ridiculous, it is incredible that anyone other than a Nazi could suggest such a thing.

In the UK, men are 70% of the victims of homicide. Globally, 78.7% of homicide victims are men, though there is a less than 1% chance that even a man will die of homicide.
