"How the internet is radicalizing white men"
Splayed on the front page of cnn.com here. Excerpt:
'Among the many tragedies of the massacre at two New Zealand mosques on Friday is a bitter irony: The terrorist who killed at least 50 people in an Islamophobic attack resembled in many ways a member of ISIS. If his life had gone different in some way, he might well have ended up one and killed people somewhere else in its name. The type of extremism and hatred is of course different. But they have at least one thing in common: the internet as a tool of radicalization.
There is still much we don't know about the suspect and his background. But before anything at all was known about him, anyone who has studied or covered extremism and these kinds of attacks could have given you an educated guess about what kind of person he was: Male. Probably in his 20s. Decent chance of at least a minor criminal record. More than likely a history of hatred toward or violence against women. Oh, and one more thing — probably spent a fair amount of time on the internet.
People could easily become radicalized before social media. Many are still radicalized without it. But social media, often in combination with other factors, has proven itself an efficient radicalizer, in part because it allows for the easy formation of communities and in part because of its algorithms, used to convince people to stay just a little longer, watch one more video, click one more thing, generate a little more advertising revenue.'

How ever did Hitler do it without the Internet?
Yep, white men by the millions are being radicalized by the Internet. Hitler was old skool. He used rallies and managed to radicalize millions of women, too. Now... it's evil white men... and the INTERNET is behind it! Oy veh.
The Internet is turning our kids into sex fiends. It's turning white men into bachelors as we prefer spanking off to Kenzie Reeves vs. banging actual women. Or wait, was that android/realistic love dolls doing that? Isn't it also turning us into game-addicted zombies?
What ISN'T the Internet doing to white men and why is the media obsessed over it and us?
Yes your average mass shooter is statistically more likely to be a white guy in western countries than not. That however doesn't stop others from doing it.
I continue to contend that crazy is as crazy does. I have seen all kinds of vids online, incl. a white supremacist one or two. Not only were they ridiculous and completely illogical, they were geared to appeal to persons of very low intelligence. They had no effect on me except to make me laugh at how ridiculous they were. I've had similar reactions to other vids such as ones made by radical feminists.
And ain't I a white guy? -- to paraphrase Sojourner Truth.
Stupid crazy ppl of any sex and color are likely to do stupid crazy things, like go on shooting rampages and/or convert to extremist ideologies. The problem isn't the Internet. It's stupid/crazy ppl not being adequately managed.
Hatred toward women?
As most of us know, anyone who challenges feminist orthodoxy is treated as a "misogynist," a hater of women. That would include most anyone who posts here or other sites interested in men's rights. It's classic guilt by association. If you don't like feminism, you must be just like this guy--ready at a moment's notice to go kill someone. It's an attempt to get internet companies to censor certain groups or people such as Jordan Peterson. Only someone who fits within a narrow ideological band should be allowed internet access.
The Internet should be a safe space for feminists but no one else.
Does it come as any surprise?
Controlling communications media is always a priority with any ideology or political group seeking to obtain or keep power. He or she who controls the channels of comm'n controls the parameters of public discourse.
Free and open discourse tends to favor two kinds of people: those who are the angriest/nuttiest and those who happen to be right. It is a tried and true tactic to seek to eliminate both kinds of ppl in the name of eliminating one.
