CBS's "Mom" promotes DV -- again

Video here. Season 6, episode 1. For at least the second time, the Bonnie character smacks her boyfriend, this time because she is upset about a dream she had wherein he was cheating on her. Jump to time mark 7:54 and watch.

Casual smacking of husbands and boyfriends isn't like punching or kicking. But it's still DV. Using physical acts on another person's body that are essentially violent in nature is abusive, especially if it's between intimates. It need not leave marks or scars nor be physically significant. It is the act itself that is abusive.

Last time I noticed this Bonnie-smacking-boyfriend thing I asked readers to submit feedback to the show. Guess that didn't work. I would suggest people contact the actress who plays Bonnie, Allison Janney, but while she is the actress doing the smacking, bear in mind she has a job to do. That she is doing it doesn't mean she agrees with it. I thought that by petitioning her to discuss this aspect of their show with directors et al., it may have more effect. Alas I have been unable to locate an on-line means to contact her. I could include a snail-mail address but few if anyone would likely be bothered writing an actual letter.
