As tales of campus 'rape culture' rage, justice goes missing
Article here. Excerpt:
'I told my son that he should include that warning in his speech to his oldest boy, who is heading to college as a highly recruited athlete. A prominent criminal attorney in his community, my son quickly agreed, having on occasion defended young clients against serious allegations of rape and assault stemming from too much partying.
The slightest sexual inference can now be wind up being classified as unwanted, possibly resulting in severe reaction from college officials pressed by authorities all the way to the White House. Male students are particularly vulnerable to accusations that can leave them without normal legal protections and scarred for life. In he-said-she-said accusations, there is a tendency to take precipitous action immediately against the accused. The infamous and ultimately discredited Rolling Stone article about fraternity gang rapes that actually never took place is dramatic evidence of that. It was all made up, apparently in an attempt by an activist to promote her agenda.'
