Michelle O calls men "useful" in meeting with girls

Story here. Excerpt:
'She suggested that while boys and men were important, it was crucial for them to talk about the lack of education for girls around the world.
“You know our sons are important, we love men, we all do, they’re good, they’re useful,” she said.
“I have one in my life,” she added, referring to President Obama. “I like him but you know we have to change the definition of what it means to invest in our young girls.”'

Just imagine...
... if a male public figure stated that women were "useful", even in a relatively narrow context, such as in the educational aspirations of men.
Just imagine... he'd be run out of town.

yes..., no doubt.
also, it's a rather 'backhanded' "compliment", i dare say.
and look at this part of the comment; (in reference to her husband)“I have one in my life,”.
it rather sounds like she's referring to a pet, rather than a human being.
it rather reminds me of those (idiotic and sexist) t-shirts i saw other girls wearing in high school and college, that said; "Boys are great. Every girl should OWN one!" and of course along with that there was a picture of a girl with a boy on a leash.
naturally had any boy worn a similar t-shirt to school, depicting girls in such a way, they would have been ordered to relinquish the t-shirt to the dean, or principal and been "disciplined".
while i still (sort of) like barack obama, i never much cared for michelle.
even when i was an idiot feminist.
