"ESPN Suspends Host for Domestic Abuse Story"
Submitted by Mastodon on Sun, 2014-08-10 20:46
Story here. Excerpt:
'The sports network has suspended host Max Kellerman after he admitted Monday on ESPN-LA Radio show Mason & Ireland that he hit his then-girlfriend, Erin, several years ago. Max and Erin have now been married for 20 years.
"Max Kellerman will return to ESPNLA Radio and SportsNation on Thursday," ESPN said in a statement released to The Hollywood Reporter.
Max explained in the story that he and Erin were at a college party and were drunk at the time. Max said that Erin slapped him, and so he slapped her back.'

Has Erin been suspended from her job, too?
Seems fair, esp. given she was the first slapper. But she has an innie, not an outie, so it's fine if she does it.
Feminist Equality
So, let me get this right. Women have impunity to hit men as much as they please. Men, however, are not even allowed to defend themselves against an attack from a female assailant. Women are allowed to joke about violence against men as much as they please without consequence (as evidenced by the fact that the hosts of "The Talk"-or as I like to call it, the Squawk-were not even punished in any way for joking about Catherine Kieu castrating her husband, even going so far as to make remarks like "I think it's fabulous," and discussing what a man would do to deserve that). Men, however have to walk on eggshells and are not even allowed to discuss the common sense notion that perhaps if your violence is met with reciprocal violence, you are not innocent and deserving of sympathy like someone who was attacked completely unprovoked.
This is the so-called equality feminism advocates for. Then they wonder why more and more men are becoming less supportive of motions whose only goal is ending violence against women. I'm sorry but it's clear that there is more than enough sympathy to go around for female victims of domestic violence. It's time to start talking more about male victims, and stop propagating this ridiculous falsehood that only male violence against females is bad, and the reverse is acceptable. A truly equal society demands it.
