More important than addressing childhood deaths from malnutrition is cutting pieces of boys' penises off, apparently. The article says they are "choosing" to have it done in a hospital instead of by someone not in a hospital. I can only wonder why. Are they getting paid for their foreskins? Are they worried getting mutilated like this is more likely to lead to infection if done outside a cleaner environment, or maybe some of both? And why get it done at all, apart perhaps from being told it was "better" for them for some reason. Men have been living with this delusion for centuries now, no surprise it could take hold given enough spreading of propaganda encouraged by financial incentives. After all, foreskins can be sold to cosmetic companies, research facilities, and bioengineering firms. Children who have died from malnutrition can't.
