Students film feminist porno in Columbia University library

Article here. Excerpt:

'Columbia University and Barnard College students filmed a feminist pornographic film in Columbia's Butler Library to fight what they see as “gender tension” at the school.

The NSFW film, titled "Initiatiøn," was filmed as a feminist statement exploring "the rituals of American Ivy League secret societies, to the point of hysteria, highlighting our culture's perception of female desire,” according to an article published on Gawker.

It begins with a group of girls sitting around a library table taking their shirts off. As the film progresses, the girls engage in activities including kissing, rubbing eggs on their bodies and twerking around chicken carcass.

One of the film’s creators, Columbia art and history major Coco Young, told the IvyGate blog that the library itself represented sexism at the school because only male author’s names are on the facade of the building.

“I haven’t made a video for Purple in a while,” Sciortino’s blog post introducing the film stated.

“If you’re in the mood for a #throwback, the most recent was a blow-job instruction video that I made with Sandy Kim last May.”'

First, notice there's no link to the vid in the story. If you want to see it, it's easy enough to find via the linked article. However I'll never knowingly post (or allow to remain posted) on MANN a hyperlink that leads directly to a pornographic video or picture (so please, resist the urge to post the link to the actual video here in the comments). Note "pornography" is distinct from "nudity"; nutty feminists running around topless with slogans painted on their chests doesn't qualify as pornographic, just nutty. If as in this case the item has a link to such a video, the item is in any case only posted because it's relevant to deconstructing feminism and those working to advance its frequently contradictory and bizarre aims. In this case, the vid qualifies as both pornographic and nutty.

I wonder if the Columbia administration approves of students filming porn in their library and posting it on-line, even as a form of "protest". But frankly, I didn't see a lot of protest-like behavior. Faux sado-masachism, affected food fetishism, nudity, and lesbian kissing-- that, I saw. But not anything approaching protest.

If Columbia doesn't do something serious about what these girls did, what's next? Where's the limit? Will they start shooting lesbian porn on the quad in broad daylight and as long as they claim it's a form of feminist protest, it gets a pass? Are college admins THAT cowed by the feminist campus whackos?

If a bunch of guys did the same thing for whatever reason, how would they react?

College: Time was, you needed brains to go to college, and you were expected to behave and use your time wisely. Drink some? Yes. You're young. But start doing things like this, sober no less?

If Elizabeth Blackwell were alive today, what do you suppose she'd say to this?

This is unbelievable! How on earth can they get away with this?? At the very least they should be kicked out of college. I'm wondering if any criminal laws were broken about use of public space.

I have so many questions. Did the library staff know this was going on? Was it done during normal library hours. So now that this is public knowledge, is the school doing anything about it?

IMO, their "protest" has nothing to do with fighting the "gender tension". This is just a made up excuse so women can behave badly and get some attention. If these women receive no punishments, it is proof that they get better treatment and have more sexual freedoms compared to men.
