Avon Foundation willfully ignores male victims in latest DV awareness campaign

From SAVE via Men's E-News 12/5/13, item here:

Here's how the Avon Foundation explains its one-sided DV message: "The Avon Foundation for Women recognizes that both women and men can be domestic violence victims. For ease of communicating the signs to our ......social media audience -- which is 93% women -- the campaign positions the woman as the victim. This choice is in no way intended to indicate that abuse is limited to women."*

If you find that the listed number has been deactivated or the email address returns an error showing it no longer exists or is full, you can always contact Avon via the website here, which also lists its main tel. number. Either calling or emailing, please be polite and stick to the facts around the topic. State your case and no more. Don't expect anyone to whom you get through to agree with you or concede any points. It's enough to let Avon know they're being called on their willfull omissions of fact. They may not change the current campaign but objections to the exclusion of male victims this time may positively affect their next campaign. Also, you can take to Twitter to mention the omission of male victims from the campaign's consideration. Avon's main Twitter account seems to be @AvonInsider and the hashtag it's using for this campaign is #SeeTheSigns
