Miriam Carey's death was necessary and justified

Article here. Excerpt:

'There is currently quite an uproar over the shooting death of Miriam Carey -- the woman who tried to plow through the White House with her car. Capitol police -- who were working without pay thanks to the republican-caused government shutdown -- had no choice but to gun the madwoman down. It was an act of patriotic duty for these officers who were doing their job for nothing while a lone woman posed a threat to several people, including the POTUS and her own child who was in the car with her.

The woman's mother has taken to the media to share that she was suffering from Postpartum depression at the time of the incident that injured at least one Capitol Police officer -- as if that is any reason to try to justify her dangerous behavior. This may not be a popular opinion, but if this woman was known to be suffering from PPD, who's idea was it to let her drive around with her child without supervision? She threatened the President, his staff, the public and her own child -- and therefore threatened pretty much everyone in the U.S. by her behavior.'

If she were a he, no one would be questioning the shooting's justification. Attempting to run a barricade with a car at the White House, then hitting one or more police officers with that car while attempting to escape capture fits every definition both law and case law findings have for behavior that poses a serious imminent threat to the community justifying the use of deadly force, if not requiring it. But because the driver was female-- there's "controversy".

In a day and age where people have been known to load vehicles with explosives and attempt to set them off (or actually do so-- remember Oklahoma City?) near government buildings, or just plain run others down with their cars, can anyone with a straight face question the actions of police when dealing with someone behaving like this? Only if said person is female, apparently.
