'The by-election will take place next month and campaigners say electing a woman would be a fitting response to the manner of Walker's departure following his conviction for domestic abuse.
The idea of all-party shortlists in Dunfermline has support from political bloggers Susan Dalgety and Kate Higgins, who have supported the idea from opposite sides of the political divide.
Others say the move would amount to positive discrimination and exclude potentially good candidates because they are male. Scotland Tonight asked Kate Higgins why she backed the idea.'
